Well I've just finished Royal and goddamn that was incredible. I was already head over heels for the original but I was absolutely not expecting to be blown away by all of the new stuff.

Maybe Akechi’s deepest desire was to be free from his sins, and to be able to spend more time with Joker? He freely admits that he hates him, but it does kind of feel like Joker’s his only friend at times. He’s wise to the deception though because he probably earnestly believes he doesn’t deserve a nice life like that.

Robbie Daymond is def one of my favorite VAs in recent years because of his incredible range. I honestly thought he'd be typecast as just prettyboys, like Akechi's initial facade, but then Shido's palace happens and the mask comes off and the train just keeps rolling from there.  He's also goddamn Kenshiro in the FotNS Yakuza game, like goddamn.

Its a waste of a night. There’s a Temperance perk that lets you get some things washed without spending an evening, but then she’s not being coffee or making curry. There’s a pretty good way to use the dirty clothes though. You’ll find it after the second dungeon.

You get a substantial amount of extra evening time in Royal, but they did rebalance the social stat thresholds to accomodate, IIRC.

Will of the Sword also has an undocumented effect that gives you auto-Concentrate if you start with a Persona who has that trait. It's loving nuts! I built my Yoshitsune to have all three auto-ma spells with WotS as his trait so I'd start as him, then swap over to Lucifer for a 6 SP Morning Star that was charged waaaaaaay the gently caress up. If I were feeling really feisty, I'd slap a Debilitate on the enemy too but that's suuuuuper overkill.

Back when smt4a was new, Atlus missed some dialogue from the final boss fight if you were doing poorly or something, so there’d be a random japanese text box on screen and their excuse was “our playtesters were too good to see this, sorry guys!” So I imagine this was a similar scenario.

I tried that one a few weeks ago. My problem with the recipe was that it didn’t really give any amounts for anything, so I kind of winged it with the spice blend and it ended up tasting really funky.

Only Joker's outfit affects the battle BGM. I usually gravitate towards the if... costumes for the sweet classic SMT music. I think he just does his chores off camera. Like, he’d spend maybe 30 min to an hour doing his normal laundry and taking a quick soak at the bathhouse. These chores would be separate from you choosing to spend time doing them; the dirty laundry is super filthy and probably takes extra long to clean and when you choose to spend a night at the bath, you’re explicitly spending a long while just relaxing and soaking.

I believe they do give s link points, and you should play darts and max out Baton Pass ranks wherever possible. Baton Pass is waaaay more fun to use this time around.
