i'm poo poo at the melee system in mount and blade, so i'm pretty disappointed that "automatically block in right direction" isn't an option anymore. alas! i'm also confused why people on tales forum are so hostile when people ask about it, but whatever. also, my eyebrows show up in first person view?? i'm looking forward to seeing how the devs continue to develop this though

For Charm, you want to barter, socialize with people, and do things that increase relationships (like completing missions). The game actually tells you how to increase skills on that skill's page in the character sheet. It's surprisingly transparent.

How do you train scouting? I read the tooltip but difficult terrain appears to do nothing, and I haven't gotten any quests to interact with tracks yet.

what the gently caress is the secret to joining games through the matchmaker on North America? It shows hundreds of people in the queue, but yet it farts around for like 5 drat minutes before it puts you in a match yet if you switch over to Europe it will matchmake you instantly, no big deal

Checked the system requirements and yeah, probably finally going to break down and buy a new rig for this. The fact that I managed to get 10 years out of the old one and still play a lot of the newer games (albeit at lower settings) with only minor upgrades is nice, but eventually you just have to move on...

What should I be working towards once I have a decent little band of dudes and can comfortably take on the roving bands of random looters/bandits? I never played the first game so I don't really have a good sense of how to get into more interesting fights.

You can attempt to get brownie points with a faction and join them as a vassal or you can conquer a castle for yourself if you think you can hold it and start a new faction.

Saaame. Going to mess a round with Bannerlord a bit tonight, but it's likely I'll have to wait til I can up my CPU and RAM, sadly! The good news is I have like 10 years of Warband mods to gently caress with. Been a few years since I played, may as well dive back in now that I've got the itch!

So I didn't get a screenshot of it at the time (and it's crashing too often to be worth trying to replicate it right now) but: Some things are scaled to your body, and some are scaled to your head. So from what "regular" helmets I've tried, they just squeeze your giant head in and everything looks "normal". The hood I got from a looter, though? Whole rear end head clips through it.

The big thing I'm trying to find out right now is where to find a decent source of combat exp near Battanian lands. I am still WAY too baby to fight, for example, Empire with my lovely t2-3 troop hodge podge. Also getting Highborn Youths is like pulling teeth. I need my drat sweet longbowmen

Both of those things confirmed my decision to Early Buy this game as the correct one. Pretty much everything so far is great in my eyes, actually. I'm loving pretty much every single part of this. It's making Mountain Blade look like a big bag of dicks, and I rate Mountain Blade as an all-timer.

In my case I had picked up one of the quests where you ambush poachers and it was bugged. When it timed out (relatively certain the timeout was way too quick too) , the game crashed. I went to a save before I picked that quest up (and didn't pick it up) and havent had issues since. Dunno if your issue might be similar.
