You don't have to 8e a good person to 8e a hero.
“Karen is a classist slur” is basically this meme in real life:

Outing myself and generating thread content, but I've always felt the whole 'Karen' thing was more than a bit misogynistic. I'm not sure that I'd agree that it had class connotations though.

I mean, I do, because the collective image of 'a Karen' as I've understood it is definitely upper-class, or upper-middle at its lowest. 'Karen' describes that sort of older woman who never really seems happy about anything and is always super judgemental of others they see as 'below' them. It's 'I need to speak to your manager' with a larger purview, they're also the moms who give teachers hell and the people who apparently aren't racist but are very scared of black youths. It's definitely an image that I associate with a certain social class.

I suppose there's a sexist element, too, because it is really levelled at women, but I think it's because while that sort of person does exist among men, it manifests very differently.

this has always kinda been my thought on it; yeah, it's inherently misogynistic but it's a pretty specific upper middle class white lady phenomenon, most other entitled pricks tend to manifest differently. It'd be possible to call it something besides a woman's name but the stereotype itself is about a certain type of (typically) woman.

Depends on how it's used pf course. The Karen thing always felt like retail people venting at the best of times.

I'm okay with Conner, because Colton sounds too unique and Cody sounds too young.

A male Karen equivalent, I think, has to be a name you could find multiple people having at a golf or sailing club.

EDIT: a lot of people in the replies saying 'Chad', which would be perfect if the incels hadn't gotten to it first. Chad definitely fights with coaches at their kid's Little League matches and then goes to play golf.

Richard, but specifically the Richards who insist on going by the full name all the time. I've met decent Ricks and Riches, and I've even met a few Dicks who weren't actually dicks, but every Richard I've ever met has been an "I demand to speak with the owner" rear end in a top hat who calls waiters "the help".
