They're around 2500 dead, but there's only 10 million of them. That's roughly 85,000 equivalent dead compared to the USA. ***

And the whole time I'm thinking "Wait. Does she not know how small the population of Ireland is?". In reality the death rate was pretty much tied at the time and subsequently the Republic has unfortunately pulled ahead.

In Ireland you have to do 8. Man's a tremendous fool. You sure you're not confusing A levels and GCSE's? GCSE's are the end of compulsory education exams (age 16) and yeah you do about 8 of those as well. A-Levels are for those continuing for the next 2 years in higher education and possibly going on into University. They are higher level and more focused so you usually only do 3-4 of those.
