Hmm, Persona 5. I actually avoided ALL information and spoilers for six months on this game and bought a PS4 for this game because I had loved Persona 4 so much. I was...disappointed. There are parts that are fantastic, and I really like the gameplay, but the “meat” of the game is in the Confidant Social Links, which have pretty flat characters, and the story, which is...  In my playthrough, I got to the October dungeon and realized that while I was half-interested in things, I really didn’t care about these characters and plot enough to play any more than the 115 (!) hours I had put in to that point, so I quit playing with the intention of coming back if I felt like it. I tried to read Arist’s LP thread last year, which was really great, and had tons of great discussion; but I was only able to get to a bit after the July palace because, again, I realized that the boredom with the characters and writing could not overcome the parts that were actually fun and interesting. Maybe the third time’s the charm? I actually have only vague ideas about what happens after you complete the October dungeon, I just know that there’s A TWIST, though I have no idea how the hell pancakes would factor into anything, so I’m actually enjoying making stupid guesses based on vague allusions in this thread while it lasts. Also can we please name the MC Robin Banks?

Because it is immediately following a fade from black, the immediate assumption is that he was asleep, but his eyes are actually open when the scene starts? But the big problem is that he’s “waking up” startled at all. Everything up to November 19th or so is framed as a flashback Maaku is remembering from interrogation… but the visual language of this scene seems to be implying the reverse: that Maaku is remembering the scene in the future that hasn’t happened yet.
