my aunt, who was once married to a guy who worked for the Iowa Hawkeyes basketball team in the early 1990s, told me recently that once, when I was like 3 or 4, I visited him at work and got to meet some of the players I pointed at one of the black players and said "Michael Jordan!" really loud to everyone. apparently I just assumed all black basketball players were Michael Jordan edit: I am super glad that this is the top of the page just stoked

So, obviously there's debate about who the basketball GOAT is. Same in baseball and football (although I guess most would say Tom Brady now, ugh). Do hockey people debate it, too, or is it Wayne Gretzky? Like, I want to make an argument for Gordie Howe as a Red Wings fan, but the debate in that sport feels more settled than in other sports.
