playing 40 minutes a night for a doomed rockets squad probably wasn’t great for his long term health either (if you’ve ever watched the 99 rockets-lakers first round series, scottie looks loving gassed chasing around an out of his prime glen rice and rick fox)

it's crazy looking at the years right after the 95 cap jump; jordan as the 32nd highest paid player in the league behind dudes like danny ferry and sam bowie

anyways here's a super crunchy article about what exactly the bulls could have done to not rip off their second best player and stay under the cap: https://earlybirdrights.com/2020/04/20/the-last-dance-scottie-pippen-salary-michael-jordan-chicago-bulls-jerry-krause/

(it probably would've involved pippen taking an extension like with the first 7 year deal and at that point he would've been under contract until 2000 i.e. his age 35 season so in the long run he probably would've lost money but hey there you go)

no, they specifically wanted a college guy. i believe the guy who made the team over isiah was stockton.

defensible both at the time and in retrospect tbh although yes laettner over shaq (and webber and zo) was still a stupid call

he went on to write for espn, sporting news, and nbc.com

but he was also a bulls beat writer so his sources were probably former bulls players idk what point that tweet is trying to make

By like 8 win shares. That's the most annoying part of this dumb story. By the time they picked the team Isiah wasn't a great player anymore and Stockton was one of the five or so best players in the league by most advanced stats.

isiah hadn’t sniffed an all nba team in about five years at that point, even after they expanded it to three teams

stockton, payton, healty kj, tim hardaway, and mark price would all rank ahead of him in 91-92 (as would magic but there was no way magic wasn’t getting on that team); there were perfectly legitimate basketball reasons to leave him off of that roster even if he didn’t have beef with half of them

i think people just expected daly to stump for one of “his guys” and the perception is that the forces that be conspired to leave isiah off the team; i think if you need to have a piston on there in 92 it makes way more sense to have joe dumars

So when a crazy super fan wants to poison a pizza, what does he do? Takes out some raw chicken juice to top it with after cooking?

for a serious answer that's not just shoving stuff up your butt (not that there's anything wrong with that, it's 2020 we all deserve buttplay), visine is supposedly odorless and tasteless, and in theory you could also dissolve laxative into the pizza sauce pretty easily

both of which are crazy dangerous; you could put someone in the hospital with that stuff

(i don't know why people insist on humoring michael jordan with his bullshit tainted pizza, either he had fluke food poisoning or he was hungover and either one is fine and adds to his legend perfectly well)

I remember a couple years after Smith's book came out, the rumor was that Horace was the main source. I can't remember where I read this at the time, but I always assumed Jordan was the one pushing that rumor.

Then, several years later, I read somewhere else that it was more Phil Jackson, than Horace.

Trying to google this now brings up mostly the current news story involving Grant. Who do you all think the main sources were?

everyone but jordan and krause probably leaked some stuff but phil was likely the worst offender

Bulls had some carryover fans from the era, but outside of a few of the Rose years, no one outside Chicago has given a poo poo about the Bulls.
