Yeah I've never really understood that. It seems like more effort than it's worth. I'm looking at using some in our barn build out west but it's likely not going to happen and if it does, they'll be largely unmodified other than adding a door or window or three.

Reportedly the next gen BRZ86 is going to be sharing a higher-revving tuned version of the FA24F with the 2021 WRX with Toyota doing the rest of the car. I was thinking about picking up an FR-S in the next couple months but now I'm seriously considering throwing money into keeping the Impala's transmission from falling apart and waiting to see how the 2021 BRZ86 shakes out. e: this is of course assuming that the 'rona doesn't shut Toyobaru Mk II development down for a couple years, of course Kazinsal fucked around with this message at 08:43 on May 10, 2020 |

The roundy first gen or the angular second gen? I remember Dad shopping back in the early '80s and the original roundy Supra just came out. He was looking at it and decided to wait. I'm glad he did. He ended up getting one of the first second gen cars. That was one of my first "cool car" experiences. The angular design was a huge departure, especially the sport package that he got with the fender flares, chunky wheels and speed. Not fast by today's metrics (in fact, quite slow in comparison), but it was one hell of a car.

My brother has an '85 celica gts, so the same car but with a different front clip. we just did a head replacement on it, and everything is available, from kits to piece parts. dunno about the 6-cylinder, but the 22re is ubiquitous and is compatible with like every other toyota out there with one. so if the 6-cyl is anything like that, sounds fine to me?

For what its worth, I had two separate campground reservations canceled by the state park service of the respective states, GA and IN, through the beginning of June. I am not sure how long campgrounds will continue to cancel them, but not being able to park it will be a hassle especially if your just winging it. Also, flying J with RV pumps will be your friend. Trying to pull a 32’ camper thats really 36’ behind your bumper plus the already long ccsb pickup is no fun when you need gasoline because the station was designed for a car. My one RV trip I hope to go on this year is in December to big bend texas. Hoping that one doesn’t get culled as well. We were planing on ordering a new grand design solitude 310GK with full body paint, heat pumps and some other nice stuff but thats postponed for now. If we do go it will probably be with our current Jayco. So instead of ordering the new 5er, I am in the process of buying a new tractor. Its a 2020 new holland powerstar 120. Deluxe cab with a high vis roof, HD loader, the widest set of R1W radials available, and 4x4 with HD limited slip front axle plus the usual HD mechanical rear locker. Its in stock at the dealer 6 miles away, soon to be 2 miles away after we move. The in stock at the close dealer part was the main reason for buying this particular machine, because it doesn’t have a couple features I really want. Mainly, the factory installed third function diverter for the loader, and a factory 3rd rear remote. I could go to the local case IH dealer and get a farmall 120U (same machine but red) that has them but they are 25 miles away, and a bit more expensive. I could order a new one, but that takes 6 months to come slow boat from Turkey right now. The dealer can add the third remote for $1500 but the diverter he said we would have to order on a new build. There are $700-800 hydraulic doubler kits if I really want that later on. I am getting a used JD CX15 bat wing and a new 9 foot rear blade with hydraulic tilt and angle as well. Can’t wait to tear poo poo up with the batwing.

Spectrum let me actually order new service with no deposit, despite it taking me 4 years to pay off one bill with them. Paid it last week. Though my credit score is steadily increasing (the GOTTA PUT MY SHARPIE SIGNATURE ON IT bux let me pay my phone for 3 months + pay off my CCs, the CC payoff gave me a decent credit score bump). Spectrum was the last non-medical collection I had. Yes, I have a low credit limit. Paying down the cards put me at 5% credit usage (just some auto renew stuff on there right now), which seems ot matter more than the fact I only have $1500 worth of credit cards. .... they're only doing self-install right now. Period, full stop, no help if there's issues with the self install. I already know either the drop to the house needs replacing or the powered splitter outside is hosed - when roommate had them before, it was down more than up. That could have been the run to the wall jack he was using, but looking at the wiring outside, it's pole drop to powered splitter/2 port amp (split with duplex neighbor) directly to one wall jack, said wall jack is run along the outside of the house. I'll have to go double check. I know Spectrum's customer service is a pain in the rear end, but the only other option is 100mbit AT&T with a 2 year contract for way more (and since it's over 45 year old copper, I don't see how in the hell it'd hit those speeds). This is 200/10, available speeds up to 945mbit down/30 up. The house is wrapped in coax along the outside (it's probably structural to be honest), most not hooked up at this point. I suspect I'm gonna wind up running my own drop from the demarc. At least the demarc isn't far from of my bedroom window (or I could just tape new coax to the old poo poo and yank it through the existing through-hole). The one existing wired connection goes to the living room, but since I'm the one paying for the internet, and I have a desktop, I was planning to put the modem and router in there. Less cable length from the demarc that way anyway, and my bedroom is right in the middle of the house.. so should be the ideal placement for wifi (not a big place, maybe 1000 sq ft? 2 bed/1 bath/1 car garage duplex from the 70s) Nice thing is.. at least for me, it scares roomie a bit... I cook a lot. Gas stove and oven. It's in decent shape, can't find any real issues with it aside from being dirty. All burners work, oven works. I MUCH prefer gas over electric. It's a basic as hell Hotpoint, it has a digital timer at least. I used a HF transfer pump to get everything out first, so nothing dripped. Only thing now is I need to get something to soften up the old caulk since the bits that won't come out of the tile are discolored as hell. Edit: I am definitely going to pick that up though because gently caress wax seals.

Pulled the trigger on a top of the line Ego self propelled mower today. Battery is charging now. After watching dozens of youtube reviews the Ego just seemed better engineered and more powerful than any other cordless mower. Cons: it was expensive

I finally put the i5 2500k out to pasture. Replaced it with a 3900x/5700xt combo and i think i won the silicon lottery again on both counts. The 5700xt hit 2134mhz on stock voltage and the 3900x boosts up to 4.2ghz all core, and 4.5 single with the stock cooler and the whole thing is dead silent.

Last weekend doing dishes after meal prep we noticed the sink was draining slow. Tried drano and a snake, cleaned everything we could access under the sink. Got progressively worse during the week. Father-in-law and friend came over today to take a look at it since I'm basically disabled and can't do anything over head. Started at a low point in the plumbing, was clogged near solid. 3ft+ of clog. Cut out most of it, cleaned the rest then fixed the slope issue and put it all back together. The smell...at least it wasn't toilet.

Lots of poo poo went kind of sideways on that trip but whatever, it's not like I was gonna starve or freeze to death in the age of cellphones.

Instructions said that if the flange is flush to use the included spacer, but that stacked up way too high with the new toilet. Bolted it down with no spacer and so far no leaks. Success!

Appreciate the help with the MK2 Supra on the last page or so, but after asking some about the car and doing more research I really don't think it's a good "beginner" classic for me. Especially since going 6 hours one way to discover that I won't fit in it or I don't like driving it is a massive waste of time. I think I'm going to take it slower and find something European and test drive it and see if I even like the vintage experience.
