The combat isn't really anything like Dark Souls, other than its meatiness. I seriously can't think of any major criticisms of GoW other than Niflheim and Alfheim being a bit shite. And they held back way too much on the god killing side of things.

If a game has level scaling there's no reason for it to have a level system at all. It kind of makes sense for W3 because Gerald has been doing this for years and there's no reason any enemy should be 50 levels above him at this point. So just do away with levels and if there absolutely needs to be progression just make the mutagen system better.

I'll probably give it a go because it looks a lot less bland than the last two or three Paper Mario games. But God drat Nintendo enough with the paper based gimmicks. Is it too much to ask for a solid RPG with a fun plot where everyone is made of paper but it's never really acknowledged or made a big deal out of?
