I assume so they could take the faithful money off the hands of covid victims to guide them into their kingdom in heaven, and drum up publicity for donations from their loyal band of idiot followers. That's better than the letters from attorneys offices and court summons that I keep getting in my mail intended for the previous tenant.

Yeah, this has always been a tactic to save money by screwing over troops. My last unit had people who were going to stay down at NTC for more than 90 days, which would have given them a bunch of money and benefits, so the unit would send them back to home station for 24 hours on day 89. Wouldn't let them see their families, they had to stay on base because "opsec" for a normal training rotation.

mlmp08 posted:Even better then, I guess they can just have judges quit by choice a week or a few before elections and then always allow 2-year gubernatorial appointments. If I understood an article I read correctly, in mid November the old Justice said that he would quit at the end of December. Their constitution has justices appointments based around the calendar year, so because he quit right before January first, it didn't automatically go to an election. Also, the Justice has to sit for at least six months, so if the governor appointed Justice takes his seat on June 1st, then based on their not real Supreme Court decision, because all of the actual justices reused themselves, the next time they will be legally allowed to vote for a Justice is 2022. At least, that's my understanding of it.

I bet that a big one is going to happen within days of the Feds saying "everything is cool!" and then it's going to be a be the media fighting between their love of bloody coverage, and them trying to make people unafraid of going outside again. I think a lot of people have memory holed the constant mass shooting stuff in America, because we collectively have the memory of goldfish and the past few months have been too emotionally taxing to people. Meanwhile, the lonely weirdos who do this poo poo have just been waiting for people to congregate again. I'm not looking forward to when kids go back to school.
