How does trading Lowry to the Sixers result in the Raptors moving up 20+ spots in the draft?

It’s multi team! And includes “co[mpany]”! It’s definitely not intentionally vague bullshit!

You could probably build something around Wiggins to Toronto, Lowry to Philly, Horford to GSW with Philly and Toronto throwing a bunch of young players and picks to the Warriors but Masai is too smart for that

So we start with Toronto giving the best player and getting the worst, and then they give away [Terence Davis, I guess] for the privilege.

I can kind of see the point if the team is tanking and if you have to pay someone, you might as well pay someone that has some off-court appeal rather than some other dude. I see no reason why the Raptors in their current incarnation would be that team.

there are definitely things to like about lamelo but blowing up a very good team to move up in this draft is a terrible idea and i don't think this raptor front office does very many terrible ideas

Antetokounmpo's resigning in Milwaukee. Next best shot is Toronto, but that's like 5% if he wants to live in a country not currently trying to murder itself. And better food and culture.

In the past week, Draymond has demonstrated what Golden State is, and it's not pretty. Sign here as the best player, win multiple championships for the team, and have this guy complain the whole time about how they don't need you, and backstab you when you take his advice and leave. GS can't get rid of him on that terrible contract.

Counterpoint: Giannis is obsessed with Stephen Curry and also wants to win championships. He’s demanding a trade to Golden State.

Curious about CBA stuff, can an NBA team trade away bad executive assets for a player? Like I know Doc Rivers was traded but if a team had Derek Fished type coach on a terrible 6 year contract paying $30 mil could that team trade the coach with a 1st round pick just to save the money.

yes, but like no one gives a poo poo about coaching contracts.

All it costs the team is money, which in most cases is negligible. The only reason they care about player contract is a salary cap. There is no coach salary cap

Right, but I'm thinking about people like the Phoenix suns owner. He was selling away draft picks for cash in steve nash's prime. I could imagine he would be like "hey anyone want to take 10 million dollars in lovely executive contracts for a first round pick" and a rich team like the Clipper would say yes. Then Balmer could have the lovely executives working the cotton candy machine while they wait for their contracts to run out.

Just shocked that hasn't happened if it's legal.
