It's really really really good! If you like it might I recommend:

1. Blackstar - the best duo collaboration album in hiphop history. Absolute genius start to finish
2. Outkast - ATLiens: just amazing chill tunes front to back. try not to smile listening to this poo poo.

then if you want something a lil less mainstream maybe try like

3. Pharcyde - Bizzare ride II - This album is so weird and amazing and hilarious and just genius. ITS GENIUS LISTEN TO IT.

Also the entire Gorillaz discograpgy is a great way to start liking hiphop.

I’m not rap-agnostic, so I’ll give Blackstar and Pharcyde a turn, thanks. I know some Gorillaz and Outkast stuff, but I realised the other day I had a ‘rap gap’ from when grunge was a thing. My gap seems to run from Straight Outta Compton to around the time Endtroducing... dropped. Which I guess is hip-hop adjacent.

My name is AchtungBaby,
and I´m here to say
It's time, Kate (aight, Kate, begin).
Straight out the little dungeons of rap.

The light drops deep as does my pineapple.
I never mash, 'cause to mash is the accountant of dapple.
Beyond the walls of wood shavings, life is defined.
I think of buildings when I'm in a Weston-super-Mare state of mind.

Hope the grapple got some apple.
My rappel don't like no dirty dapple.
Run up to the snapple and get the chapel.

In a Weston-super-Mare state of mind.
What more could you ask for? The amazing light?
You complain about the cold.
I gotta love it though - somebody still speaks for the site.

I'm rappin' to the tail,
And I'm gonna move your rail.

Pointy, stupid, entertaining, like a box
Boy, I tell you, I thought you were a fox.

I can't take the the cold, can't take the book.
I woulda tried to push I guess I got no outlook.

I'm rappin' to the rail,
And I'm gonna move your tail.

Yea, yaz, in a Weston-super-Mare state of mind.

When I was young my accountant had a bite.
I waz kicked out without no night.
I never thought I'd see that site.
Ain't a soul alive that could take my accountant's white.

A sharp rod is quite the broad.

Thinking of buildings. Yaz, thinking of buildings (buildings).

I'm sure you all have Kendrick and Ye and all covered so here's some more obscure styles

backpack poo poo:
Blackalicious' Gift of Gab, A-F-R-O and RA The Rugged Man being backpack as all hell and cramming in syllables like Fu Schnickens or Bone Thugs. I like to think I'm past this teenage years stuff but then a track like this comes along
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L3dtIyt6U1E

Pouya and Germ, two young gentlemen doing what early-90s rappers would've called "hardcore" when making their vanilla ice and hammer diss tracks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbwos-R_fpQ

nother young guy from richmond CA, Daboii, who is good as hell

spark master tape, an anonymous voice-effected rapper who is good

"favorite actor dennehy
favorite drink o'douls
bears... hawks... sox... bulls"

let's get real obscure.. forty two (42) views on youtube as of posting this link. Monk Mandino. I kinda love this guy though and hope he makes it big so he doesn't have to post freestyles on night shifts as a security guard

Listen to It Was Written, then the Lost Tapes 1, then Stillmatic. I am... I'm mixed on but if you're looking for more check it out. The rest you can listen to after that at your leisure and find the hits or jams you like. Don't listen to Nastradamus cause it sucks lol. My favourite album I think is Lost Tapes just because of how raw and authentic Nas is, reminds me of early Tupac, rather than endless braggadocio and gangsta storytelling

My favourite hip hop/rap group is still People Under the Stairs. Old school production using spinning turntables, sample heavy with funky/r&b bass grooves, and Thes One is an awesome lyricist with a great flow. Double K has solid raps but is the better producer. Just good fun hip hop, clearly a work of passion and not commercial, almost universally positive, but still a lot of real poo poo over the years

e: for PUTS references my favourite is OST, 12 Step Program and their farewell Sincerely, the P. I usually have trouble just dropping YouTube links because I'm an album guy but I sincerely recommend them to people who think "hip hop sucks now", great mix of old school sound with modern production and content

PUTS are... were? great. OST was my first purchase. I saw them live in college once and while they were doing the Hang Loose the crowd jumping made the PA system cut out and they had to finish acapella and were still great. Thes is a genius and won a turntable on the Price is Right once, it's on youtube. Double K is a hell of a scratch DJ and rapper.

There will literally never be a better album than the 1994 Gravediggaz album Six Feet Deep

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C07_qaKhkPc

There were a ridiculous number of imitators that tried to sound like this and they were all poo poo. These dudes invented a genre and then buried it because the genre was horrible, except for the first album that created it. It's an enigma. It's RZA's best work and that includes the first loving Wu Tang album. God drat I love this LP.

Onyx All We Got Iz Us is a close second but it's a truly depressing album and you have to be in the right mood for it (suicidal)
