one thing that's neat with FFXIV is that the calamity that destroyed the world is actually an in-game explanation for the game's reboot back in 2012. they actually did this as an in-game event before turning the pre reboot version servers off

It may have contributed to my first abandonment of the game, but I think I wasn't using benches enough and my death run back to bosses was longer than necessary. So maybe I just unconsciously got better at picking where to respawn from.Though I must say the most satisfying thing that kept me playing was that on the second run, nail bouncing just clicked for me. (using the knockback from hitting something below you for more airtime). Also never got the hang of parrying... the timing never felt right. I tended to run a mage build. Every time I focused on tanking/healing I felt like I just made even less good decisions about how I approached the bosses. YMMV obviously: I've seen other people absolutely wreck house with tank builds...

i don't know from builds but i like having the two charms that extend your nail's reach on, plus whatever else. it's deffo more fun when you unlock more of them to tweak your experience to your taste, and when getting around isn't so painstaking/tedious

They aren't shown in game when you complete the specific expansion.

Finished Endwalker. They stuck the landing perfectly. This has dethroned all other games for me now and taken the top spot. I've never played something that's got me weepy or shaking in joy at least a dozen times.

i really like the combat in hollow knight and its neat when a certain boss fight clicks, the mantis lords were a lot of fun but for some reason i just do not seem to be compatible with how to fight the broken vessel, i just kept repeatedly doing exactly the wrong thing, dashing into it, reacting the opposite of how i should to what it was about to do i did beat it without too much difficulty or repeated attempts but have so far failed repeatdly at the dream version, lost kin

ALSO: Do not heal unless he is stunned. It looks like you have time, but you don't. Dangit, I've become the kind of advice giver I hate in boss battle games... the guy who just says "don't be greedy, don't get hit"

afaik you can play the entire game without interacting with another human being on a meaningful level. I don't even consider it an MMO really like yeah you gotta do group raids to kill big mobs but the game finds randos for you and u arent forced to join a guild or log on monday night for company raid night or w/e
