God… death stranding was an experience. The story was typical Kojima, full of words and music and no subtext at all. But something about the gameplay loop… it worked. It worked so well that you started to love the jank and the cornball story and the egregious celebrity cameos along with it. The music direction didn’t hurt either, but I think that may be way more subjective than how satisfying the “FedEx quest the game” loop actually worked.
