i think i got burned out on rimworld a bit which is fine because elden ring has been calling me again

good call, i just picked elden ring up plus the seamless coop mod and am playing through it again with two friends new to the game

it's a ton of fun and the seamless coop mod is black magic that works great 98% of the time

To be a little serious, on a personal level, games that have made me think about life on an existential level are my perfect games. Specifically, I think about Outer Wilds and Disco Elysium a fair amount and I wish I could forget them.

rimworld is my perfect game, followed by factorio

zero is probably the best of the series, or at least in the top two

Somehow Dragon’s Dogma went completely under my radar for twelve years; I spent the last week of my surgical recovery climbing giant monsters, cackling uncontrollably at idiot pawn antics, and eventually attacking and dethroning god?!

Immediately mashed go on NG+ and going after the bitterblack isle content next.

since you have the dlc you are missing out on the best intro screen/song ever

on the plus side it looks like they folded in tons of QoL mods into 1.5

so apparently the new rimworld dlc content is completely opt-in and none of the events trigger if you don't study the monolith so that's pretty cool if you want to do a run without any of the weird stuff.

there are a few minor things that still pop up even if you ignore the monolith but yeah it's pretty great, and i think it really improves the early game because the early threats aren't bad and the rewards you get are solid
