i just beat sekiro, it's a single player fighting game with really satisfying controls

i like bloodborne most in the From Software Canon but sekiro feels like a much more refined and better version of that

it's the most refined and focused they've made the combat system and it shows

Yeah, W1 is the very epitome of euro-jank and should only be played as a historical curiosity, W2 is much better (and deeper) but still has a lot of rough edges. W3 is as close to a perfect game as I've played in years, especially with the DLC which is essential IMO, proper excellent stories and not Horse Armor.

agreeing with all this. Witcher 3 loving rules and it's dlc are legit expansion packs

i snagged elite dangerous recently and i feel like a toddler learning to walk after bopping around NMS in my end-game ship. its funny though because even feeling confused its kinda relaxing to just fly around space and run some trade routes

I love ED and have put close to 500 hours in it but it definitely suffers from a ton of issues, the biggest imo is new player accessibility. none of the mechanics or systems are really explained, they just give you a ship and toss you in the deep end. if you have any questions head on over to the ED thread.

that said you can get some really pretty screenshots in it

picked up some games on sale

Everspace: essentially FTL, but you actually fly the ship instead of commanding the doods in it. its 6DOF but pretty arcadey. alot of roguelike ellements, upgrade parts, sell/buy things, get random encounters, etc. when u die you spend your money upgrading stuff for your next run

Deep Rock Galactic: bought this to play with my roommates. your a bunch of space dwarfs that go mining missions for some stupid corporation. they drop in a cave with a goal of "collect xxx yyy" and your on your own. you can dig though anything kinda like red faction, more combat focused than something like minecraft. bunch of fun with people in voice chat but i wouldnt play it solo

XV is an awful game, especially for how much money was thrown at it. Some of the world design and music is cool, but the characters are one dimensional, the story's needlessly convoluted, and the combat is mushy unresponsive garbage.

anyway I got no man's sky on xbox game pass. I know I'm still doing the tutorial stuff but it sure is a whole lot of lasering rocks and plants

cjs: been running the new destiny 2 raid with friends which opened up last week. on a conceptual level its :black101:. the second encounter has you fighting a bunch of self-repairing nanomachine clones of this bad guy in a lab on eurpoa. to beat him you need to shoot his rear end, pick up the nanomachine pile before it regens, get in a hyper rocket pod which launches you up to a space station in orbit, then vent the nanomachines out the airlock. in the third encounter you have to fight off the bad guy again, while disarming a dozen nukes, while the station deorbits itself into europa. after disarming the nukes theres a metroid-style escape sequence before the station impacts. its pretty loving intense
