hotline miami 1 is almost a perfect game. I respected some of the efforts to mix things up in HM2, such as playing the two guys with the chainsaw and pistol, but it was really undermined by some pretty lovely level design about 2/3 of the way through. 1 remains a classic, though - a very simple game, perfectly executed.

in a similar vein, I really enjoyed heat signature. but then again, I enjoy everything by that studio

oh huh, this looks interesting. i really enjoyed 'monaco' and this looks like it has a similar vibe

from the makers of gunpoint and soon to be makers of tactical breach wizards. you'll find that defenestration is a theme in all of their games

it's not specifically like monaco, since you're out to murder everyone and generally be a jerk in space.

i liked 2 and 3. 4 felt like they really went crazy and I'm not sure where they could go for a 5

The Power Stone arcade machine was my JAM and I loved the poo poo out of it. I pirated the version on Dreamcast (because how could you NOT) and it was enjoyable but a very weird departure from what I remembered of the cabinet experience.

hell yeah! nothing beats the arcade experience for most anything

the one thing that's starting to get to me in pathfinder: kingmaker, is that i always have to end up retreating back to my outpost to heal ability score damage. overall, despite the world map travel, it definitely feels more constraining than pillars of eternity 2

the narrator for darkest dungeon ended up being better than the game. while i appreciate the brutality of the game and the disposable characters, the dungeon delving got repetitive pretty quickly

sat around today listening to a chud coworker from another team complain about RE: Village and in particular how the giant vampire lady was unrealistic. apparently lorewise the game is terrible and awful and has nothing to do with previous games. two hours of this

i dunno, i thought the game was all right and fairly popular.
