I sort of want to play TLOU2 because apparently a lot of the early leaks were not accurate at all and everyone who gave it a fair shot seems to love it, but I’m still hung up on how gleeful they are about killing dogs and making the people you murder act like full characters and generally making everything you do as wrenching as possible. is it really like that?

go do that, it's pretty cool.

i love my seamoth but wish there was a speed upgrade for it. i already use it way more than the cyclops due to speed + power management

the cyclops and seamoth aren't really interchangeable, the seamoth is for exploring with no air timer and the cyclops is more of a mobile base you park somewhere to extend your range and delay making a long trip back. eventually the cyclops will be able to go deeper than any other vehicle so you will be doing most of your exploring with the handheld propeller thing (forgot the name) and going back to the cyclops for food/air

I never built the prawn suit at all or at least never used it for anything

DAD of BOY was good but felt incomplete, like they had to axe (har) several of the planned levels. it was loving pretty though. it also made my ps4 sound like it was about to explode

the weirdest part is the one destination on the central teleporter labeled "this realm is sealed by order of odin" or something similar. it's so short and arbitrary that it really feels like it'll be unlocked in the future by something out of context like a DLC release but that never happened and they insist there was never any plan for it to happen

I guess they decided they had to put all 9 realms on the dial for authenticity but had no good ideas for what to put in that one

been playing outer wilds. it's really fun, though I'm pretty stuck at this point.

I can get to the bottom of the water planet, but just get electrocuted by stuff down there and there don't seem to be any pois. i know how i'm supposed to land on the quantum moon but can't seem to pull it off, and i know getting in to the angler fossil room will tell me how to get around in the bramble but haven't been successful finding the back way in or shining a light which are the two clues i've found for that so far.

1. dark bramble has a clue for how to get into the water planet core

2. have you been to the poles of giant's deep

3. throw the scout into the fossil and leave it there, then explore some more

i guess i've just about finished subnautica. wonderful game, tons of fun despite giving me anxiety (or, maybe in some way, because of the anxiety?)

the funniest thing for me was, weirdly, the coffee machine. after spending the first ~10 game hours struggling to disinfect enough drinking water, i was stoked to find a machine that would synthesize drinkable fluid for me. so i build it in my base and it's got this smug little robot voice, and i push the button and wait... and wait... and wait... and then it gurgles out this liiitle tiny mug of coffee that barely covers the water i lost standing around waiting for it. retrospectively i don't know why i expected anything different. a real-life face-in-hands situation.

that's why you put 2 or 3 coffee machines right next to each other and be thankful the game doesn't have a heart explosion mechanic
