Where's it at people? I'm somekindofguy, and as is the usual I'm starting up the discussion for the 2020 season of America's Got Talent. What is this? Basically another talent show in the wasteland of primetime TV. You'll get singers with sob stories, yes, but you will also get magic, comedy, danger, acrobatics and a lot of stuff in between.We've had magicians and dancers go on to win the whole thing, but last year went to blind/autistic singer Kodi Lee. And hey, if an act you like doesn't get through, feel free to vent here about it. What's new this season? Well, we have another lineup change this year, with the return of one judge and a brand new addition to the lineup  Joining everyone's favorite germophobic comedian Howie Mandel, all around killer Terry Crews and reality TV kingmaker Simon Cowell are: -Project Runway and modeling veteran Heidi Klum -Actress and model Sofia Vergara Along with various guest judges throughout the season. With the Coronavirus still wreaking havoc, the plan for the live shows is still up in the air, but apparently they have been having online auditions to supplement the taped ones. Should be interesting to see how it unfolds. Where can I catch this? The first episode of the auditions airs tonight on NBC, 8 PM Eastern. Don't worry if you miss it though, as NBC tends to put clips on via Youtube the next morning, letting you catch the highlights without all the fluff. Hope you enjoy, and pray for less singers.

I haven’t watched this show in years and I think by pure luck I turned it on just in time to catch the best first audition of the season. That 10 year old Canadian girl can sing.

Not going to lie, when the 10 year old kid said she was bullied it seemed forced like she was just trying to force that into the judges lap, but she has a legit great voice. For my money, though, the star of the season so far was Bonavega who turned awesome up to 11 and destroyed the controls.

Here's hoping he gets through Judge Cuts when they come. New episode is on now if anyone is interested. I recognize Brett Loudermilk from Penn and Teller Fool Us, so hopefully he gets through.

Apparently AGT is audienceless tonight. Should be interesting to see how comedians fare. As per an article, they are apparently condensing the judge cuts from four weeks to one, and may be doing more acts in the live shows. So, thoughts on the live show format: it sucks that not all the acts performed live, but I suppose that is impossible given Covid. On the other hand, being at Universal Studios let them open up the set design a bit and made some of the acts feel like a sizzle reel. I do have to wonder if the added flash some of the acts got will have an impact on who goes through.
