Sigh. My buddy recently went completely off the deep end and is now posting a bunch of #redpill fake anon bullshit. Most recently was support for Trump stripping the shield laws of social media platforms of his choosing. I was fine putting up with the Hydrogen water bullshit, and the EMF/anti 5g tinfoil hat bullshit, but this is too much. Just in case anyone is solely focused on how this affects social media platforms, please remember that the whole "corporations have a right to free speech" thing also greatly affects FEC/campaign financing laws. So it's not such a stretch to see Trump use it to his advantage next election beyond Twitter messaging and into punishing opposing political donors.

If you want to spend the effort to get your mating surfaces perfect then you can use 1000 or 1500 grit wrapped tightly around a square steel bar to clean it and level it out. Then you can use just the gaskets and a little bel-ray waterproof grease. I've never had a problem and I've done a handfull of cars/trucks and at least a hundred motorcycles (valve covers AND water pumps) and never had a problem. Problem with the starter ballast is that if it blows, the bike won't run even if it's bump started. It cuts power to everything while the starter motor is running so as not to drain the battery. And it is NOT easily accessible. Also I didn't know that at the time so it was either bail on my bike on a 55mph road with no shoulder, or push it home. STR posted:Kinda wondering about the ground part myself, even though there's no grounding screw on it. The hum coming from RCA is fairly common when you have the amp and source not grounded. It just happens. Could be RF noise entering the single ended connection by the RCA wires acting as antennas, or just your source finding a ground through the RCA for whatever reason (usually poor chassis ground or circuit isolation on source). Ideally, the amp should not be grounded (being class 2 and all) to an electrical ground because that could be another source of interference.

The only way to get rid of the hum is to hook up a TV over HDMI. It seems like it's somehow grounding to the TV, despite the TV not being grounded. Yeah that sounds about right. Signal ground and electrical ground shouldn't cross imo because the electrical ground can actually introduce noise rather than remove it. Lol wait what if you plug the HDMI from one port into another on the Onkyo? Or touch the outside of the connector to a bare chassis screw?
