This is why all the handwringing over "peaceful protests" is loving stupid. By "peaceful" they mean "nondisruptive", ie out of the way so that the powers that be never have to even acknowledge them. You can have nonviolent protests that are extremely disruptive, that was MLK's whole deal, but somehow every idiot liberal has interpreted that into "go where the cops tell you and don't do anything to bother anyone."

Also the 3rd Amendment is usually seen as a joke because of how rarely it comes up. Unfortunately it's also kind of a tenuous argument, since Mayor Bowser isn't the owner of the hotels, and the 3A specifically provides for the owner consenting to the quartering. If the hotel owners are OK with it, the troops can stay. OTOH it's no more of an asspull than all the bullshit they've come up with for the 2A over the years.

The funny thing about the CHAZ is that all they have to do is ignore it and it will eventually collapse due to a combination of boredom and leftist infighting.
