Air circulation in multiple occupancy restrooms sucks because of the dividers, so you sit on a toilet in a tiny plastic box breathing the previous occupant's ronifarts or you're either standing at a urinal with your face exactly in the stagnant roni cloud of the gurgling boomer that just drizzled all over the floor before your turn.

Restaurants also had to incur a lot of costs to start things up again. They were shut down for weeks so every scrap of food probably had to be thrown away, now the house needs to be cleaned and reorganized and lots more labor to sanitize etc. and advertisements paid for to let people know they're open, just to run at minimal capacity and not even make any money. Now they're all even more in debt and no one will extend a restaurant credit right now so if they fold they're probably gone forever. That will start having secondary effects on the food distribution businesses, restaurant supply, the media they're advertising in, the one shop in town that repairs refrigerated trucks, the fancy farmers that grow restaurant stuff, the landlord filth that owns the storefront. Reopening was a really stupid gamble but everyone bet the house on it.

When I worked in health care the administrators were always kinda scared of them, but if push comes to shove right now it's possible they'd just be found out as another toothless grift like everything else in america. People often confuse the inhabitants of an independent suburb with the city on which it has grown like tumor, and the way population is counted also often splits cities that have a unified government and geographical location. Wikipeda lists the Census Designated Place population, when normally people are actually referring to the Census Designated County population which can encompass multiple cities and is much larger. actually its because school districts are funded by property taxes and required to be racially integrated but if you secede and incorporate a new small town with its own independent school system you can steal tons of money directly from any school which dares to educate black people and also ensure your keyleighs never make an unauthorized friend before the racism is locked in by teenage years

Everywhere that these studies are being conducted shut their schools down almost immediately, and we seem to be seeing huge spikes with young kids in the US now that parents aren't keeping them home anymore. what seems much more likely than "kids just don't get sick from this one because idk Jesus maybe?" is that there's a feedback loop driven by limited data. Because testing was so scarce due to the failure of the capitalist medical industry, the tests were restricted to higher risk people. Early data showed boomers got removed and kids were ok because they usually are, so no one was using scarce invasive tests on kids that were assumed to be fine regardless of the results. This left more of the limited test capacity available for people who assume "covid just affects old people" based on limited data -> restrict limited tests to old people -> generate no data about young people -> assume "covid just affects old people" based on limited data ->
