Floam was awesome, the Nickelodeon aesthetic of the 90's in general was awesome. I have a lifelong love of neon colors and gross out humor thanks to Uh Oh and You Can't Do That On Television

I fondly recall Nickelodeon Gak, which I think is making some sort of comeback in the form of a craftable slime from Elmer's Glue?

if I remember correctly, if you ate lots of floam you could get really addicted to it. then they started running that Stick Stickly commercial where he told you not to eat the floam (but he winked at the end to let you know it was actually ok to eat it)

Nah, you're just old, sorry. Try walking through the toy aisles at a Target or Walmart and there's still plenty of gross out stuff. They're even making Garbage Pail Kids cards again.

These things are especially horrible and dumb.

I got this poo poo:

You could bukkake the firehouse and then supposedly you’re supposed to be able to put it back in the can. My moms was like “you take that poo poo outside we just got new carpet” and mine ended up with all sorts of dirt and grass clippings in it and toys r us were out of the alacarte cans so every ghostbuster mission ended peacefully and with celebration instead of with the firehouse getting slimed, but I was picking dried flecks or that poo poo out of the roof grid on that poo poo for like a year so it was a little spooky I guess. :jerkbag:

when i was a little kid my mom worked at a mall for a glasses store. i guess when she was walking back to her car she found a bunch of halloween stuff just thrown out untouched. she gave me this like entire retail box of some kind of halloween slime eyes. Just normal sticky/goopy stuff you'd get from a "sticky hand" quarter machine with a hard plastic iris in there. it was mindblowing, it would've been a cool thing to get randomly if had just been one, but my kid brain lost it as getting a few dozen at once. best gift of my life was trash, not a surprise at all. going to school with a bunch of slime eyes to give out also makes you king hot-shot for a day on the playground.

The main difference between gak and floam is floam will require major surgery to remove from your bowels after you inevitably eat it.

Bought a slime variety pack for my friend's kid's last birthday. It had gak, floam, one with bubbles that audibly pop, and a weird ultra light weight one. The Gak and Floam seemed exactly like the Nickelodeon versions, they just had different names. Kid and her sister absolutely loved it, but I think all the new substances flying around made their mom sad.

There was tons of this poo poo in the store too. Anyone who thinks Gak and Floam are lost joys of a bygone era simply hasn't visited a Target in the past 5 years.

the GOAT
SLIME THREAD?

Okay: Short story is I got mega-dumped by my boyfriend of over ten years and then our game studio of five years shut down and left me without a job. I was a heartbroken mess of a person and ended up moving back to my hometown: a very lovely tiny little southern farming town. It was bad. After some months, I decided to take a look on okcupid, more out of curiosity than anything. I already knew the prospects were slim and they were. Lots of confederate flags, ATVs, dead deer, and one particular gentleman who was VERY into his slime fetish. I clicked on him because his profile picture was just a picture of some slime? Was greeted by photos of this doughy white guy (I genuinely don't remember what he really looked like because I was so distracted by the slime) pouring like Gak-type substance all over himself, putty coming out between his fingers, pictures of his feet in a five gallon bucket of slime, or pictures that didn't even have him in it and were just photographs of his slime collection. All he asked for was understanding of his fetish and he was still searching for someone to be his 'Slime Queen'.

After that thread, I tried to find him again, but unfortunately they had changed their policy about names. It was just nicknames/first names and I could no longer find SlimeKing69 or whatever his name was. And so, this slimy man was lost to me forever. No, I was not horny enough to be a Hometown Slime Queen but I think some part of me will always wonder what could have been.

There was Gak and they also made something actually called "Slime" or something very similar. It had the texture of mucus and you couldn't really do anything with it besides make a huge mess and rub it into stuff that it would then never come out of, like carpet.

I remember opening it in the car and my mom looking over in absolute horror and saying "NOPE" and taking it away immediately and never giving it back which was a good call her part looking back, but at the time I wanted my loving slime. I had that stuff for literally 45 seconds lol

It was all good though we went back to the store and I got a Johnny Quest action figure that was loving sweet.

Add "wam" (short for "wet and messy") to your search and you'll get the weird stuff. And those are just the ones kind enough to tag their fetish soft porn. I'm sure if you just leave the innocent slime videos on auto-play they'll eventually wander over to the weird section, as Youtube's algorithm always does.
