Now here's a question that has been bothering me all day:

If you go for a pacifist run, will there be substantially fewer bodybags in the hospital scene with Abby and Nora?
"We have more and more in coming in by the hour"

I finished a couple hours ago after two sessions (18 + 12 hours approximately) and I had managed to avoid even the tiniest leak beforehand.
I don't think I have ever been this happy to get a game close to launch. Having any of it spoilered would have suuuuuuucked.

After Seattle Day 3 I was completely blown away when I realized what they were going for. My jaw literally dropped in disbelief.

First I thought "Oh hey, another Abby interlude? Hmm, okay. Let's get to know more about her motivations and her side of the story after the flashback/reveal that her father was the Fireflies' surgeon. Sure. Try to make me like her, you fools!"

Then I saw she had her own supplement skill tree. WHAAAAT?
At first I thought it was just a cute little joke the devs put in there.
Only after another couple of minutes it fully dawned on me what the magnificient bastards were doing and I was literally leaning forward in my chair.

Holy poo poo! The balls on Naughty Dog to go and turn the protagonist into a murderous villain for the second half of one of the most anticipated sequels of (probably) all time . I mean, yeah, we used Ellie to murder countless folks and cheered her on while we did it, but she was our murderous Ellie. Also, Joel :qq:

Putting it in spoilers, just in case.

I just watched a streamer who I think had way less bodybags in the WLF camp during Abby's part.

No way to tell since I didn't make a screencap of my run, but I'm fairly sure the infirmary was packed in my run.

I asked him if he skipped kills or encounters and he said yes, he tried to skip past encounters that involved dogs as best as he could, because he didn't want to kill those.

I got an extra pre-order bonus code, which gives you an instant pistol clip capacity upgrade and the crafting training manual right from the start, if anyone wants it. It may only work in the EU.

So if you're just starting, here you go: B8JH-ECNP-7TP2

Literally the only thing that bothered me constantly:

With all the effort they put into the animations, it is kind of jarring that the only way to get off a small ledge is to run over the edge, have the character comically flail their arms and just fall down.

It's so bad and happens basically all the time.

Dunkey had a video about how there is a good game inside the Assassins Creed games if they were just 15 hour linear mission games with way less filler and I 100% agree.

I had been playing AC:Odyssey before TLOU2 came out, mainly to just kill time (unemployed and hiding from the plague, which is making a comeback in my area, yay!) and even then I felt it was just so... mediocre and uninspired. Pretty to look at, sure, but so loving bland as a game. Something to self-hatingly waste your time with.

I don't think I can go back to it now.
In fact, I can't think of any story driven game I would want to jump into right now.

Maybe Outer Wilds, I picked that up when it came to Steam recently.#

At the risk of being called out for being the typical unattentive goon gamer, but in retrospect I am just not sure right now - does Ellie get to ultimately learn at any point about Abby's (edit: personal) motivation to hunt down, torture and kill Joel?

Well, Abby brutally murdered his brother, crippled him for life and it's probably easy for him to project the failing of his marriage on her actions as well, even if he is kind of nonchalant about it (Did anyone believe he was as unaffected by the split as he played it down to be?).

His injuries are a constant reminder of that, so it makes sense that it's harder for him to let it go. And as he says, he can't go anymore and he feels the closest person to be able and willing to do so is Ellie.

If I remember correctly, Abby only starts going after her WLF buddies after Isaac put a gun in her face and was ready to go through her to kill Lev. She's considered hostile after that.

Does she ever engage the WLF before that? I think it's only Infected and Seraphites up until that point, but I can't recall every single encounter right now.

I think what the Seraphite followers did after the seraphite leader was martyred was they took the vaginal 'wound' idea and iconography that had manifested within their tribal structure as a symbol of rebirth/renewal against civilization's corruption of nature...and they made it even more central to their identities by cutting their faces, literally incorporating how their enemies spoke of them into their appearance.

If I remember correctly, there is a dialogue you can eavesdrop into or a letter that explains the facial scars as an external and visual symbol of the Seraphites' imperfection compared to their messianic leader figure.

When Abby finds him on the sailboat and asks about Danny, he tells her about the raid on the Scars where he couldn't brimg himself to killing that old dude and Danny confronts him and points his gun at Owen.
