Motion controllers don't make for good joystick input IMO. For something like this that will probably be somewhat competitive you are going to want a HOTAS setup to get to that sweet sweet VR space pew pew.

No Muscles For The Majority


I'm sure it'll control just fine with a gamepad too. House of the Dying Sun is an example of a space combat game that controls well with a gamepad (and has great VR support).
