We went as a family to see Mars Attacks!, which came out when I was 5. I remember insisting I'd be fine for it but the violence and the appearance of the Martians eventually got to me and my mom took me out of the theater. The design of the Martians stayed with me for a long time. I haven't felt genuine, teary-eyed fear since I saw A Haunting in Connecticut, and I honestly kind of miss that feeling.
