Please don't put wrestlers on a pedestal based on their espoused political views. David Starr made out like he's a committed leftist while doing horrible things behind closed doors. I've been involved in many left-wing groups that have fallen apart because of people who used the right rhetoric for clout only to be revealed as pieces of poo poo down the line. If you asked Jimmy Havoc about his political views he'd say he supported Jeremy Corbyn and wanted socialism, but he was both verbally and physically abusive to people. And there are many more people like that in wrestling these days.

I've seen a lot of people saying "oh if x, y, or z turns out to be bad I'm done, because he's got such great politics". I'm asking you now to please not think about people that way, for your own sake. A lot of people I've looked up to have been disappointments, both in wrestling and outside of it, and it's crushed me every time. There's a David Starr on every continent and of every leftist tendency. They sucker people in by using all the right words but they're actually rotten people. Wrestling is a work and wrestlers can use leftist rhetoric to work people.

I'll prob regret posting this and end up deleting later but I had to get it out. Sorry if this is a bad post.
This hits the nail on the head and I hate it; I hate being disillusioned with the things I love because loving abusive climbers and grifters come in to ruin stuff even if you kick them out.
