It kinda sounds like Dunban is just real tired and doesn't want to shoulder the responsibilty any more. If he did want the sword back, then certainly a legendary hero would have the courage to at least ask for it back. Respect Dunban's wishes imo, he just wants to be a helper.

Haha I dunno man we can party on for a bit. Probably best not to post NWS poo poo in like, serious threads about military history or whatever. Have some dignity. "At your own risk" is kinda the SA way. Needless to say, the ban in particular is not a tool I am particularly interested in using right now, until everything settles.

I can't imagine Jeffrey would have posted that if he was merely fantasizing about it. I would bet a few of my testicles that there is a lot of poo poo in motion at the moment for Jeffrey to legally acquire the company.

1. How much is lowtax getting in the deal and how much passive income will he continue to reap from the site? I don't believe for a second he would agree to a complete cut out, not with his patreon imploding.
2. Is he actually going to abide by being banned forever from this website and are we going to be allowed to poo poo talk him forever or is there some kind of nondisparagement clause in the deal?
3. What kind of changes can we expect to see in the moderation policy, including choosing mods and holding them accountable? If nothing else we need term limits like yesterday.
4. Whatever money the forums produce I personally would like to see a chunk of that set aside for lowtax's kids. I understand there are legal issues as to why we can't help his exes but a 529 or some poo poo like that to ensure his children have a chance at improving themselves seems like it should be doable.
5. What is the possibility of a goon buy-in in ownership of the site so that overtime it becomes more or less communally held and governed?

As I said, probably gonna be a while before any of that can be answered openly but I for one will be expecting it.

Regardless, thanks Jeffrey.

In fact, Jeffrey of YOSPOS, this is something I thought of earlier today, but once the sale is finalised, could we do something to raise funds for the victims of Lowtax's abuse by purchasing new avatars/forums upgrades and donating it to his ex-wife and kids? Considering the way that GoFundMe got quashed, I feel like we owe them as a community.

Wowwee these are good hard questions I, uhh, wow, can we get back to Dunban?

The amount of passive income he will continue to reap is zero. That's the only way any sort of transfer makes any sense. I'm not about to disclose any terms of the deal right now especially since it hasn't been executed.

I'm gonna punt on the rest of these because, yeah, I need a few days and hammering out what the next days are gonna look like is way more important than the next weeks, months, years. One thing at a time.

I’m a little worried that the buyout amount is enough that it would empower Lowtax to get a good lawyer and avoid any consequences for his actions (ie put off alimony and child support payments, sue for defamation over allegations and retractions) or even actively further hurt people. Idk. I’m assuming you’ve thought hard enough about whether or not this is worth it but I would feel just as uncomfortable posting even post-Lowtax if the continued existence of this forum ends up further hurting Logan, Ashli, Megan, Lauren, Jaylen and Sloane. I guess that’s not a question but it’s part of the whole “how much did you buy it for” piece.

True... I'm genuinely curious because Lowtax was talking like it costs thousands of dollars per month to run this shitheap, but the thing is that we have how many thousands of users? I would be glad to put in a bit for a Patreon or whatever that's actually supporting the servers in some kind of vaguely accountable way, as opposed to, well, you know.

It is unrealistic that low tax would give up the stream of income associated with this website for nothing. If you're not comfortable with that, there's nothing that's really going to change. If Jeffrey doesn't own the site, nlowtax will continue to run it, and other people who don't really care about this or just going to keep paying him money. This is not a charity, and Richard never ran it like one.

For goon ads can we get targeted ones it’ll be a less aggressive form of red text. Like I buy an ad that only this particular goon sees that’s just a bright flashing gently caress you with a spinning dildo or whatever.

It’d be funny because they’d have to wonder if it was targeted or it’s in the general rotation. And people would buy ones like that to put in the general rotation just to gently caress with everyone.

I’d buy those because it’s a good way to troll a goon, and I’d feel too lovely about it to ever redtext someone.

I’d drop like 100 on this a year if it existed, both in targeted ones and ones that made people wonder if it was targeted.
