So I've downloaded some of the workshop content for Library of Ruina and it's pretty awesome. People have done pages for a whole bunch of EGO gear like Justicia and then you have content like this. It is perfect in every way.

Well I finished the game last night thanks to a lot of help from TeeQueue and my various twitch chatters. 15 dead agents to clear the final challenge, which is still less than I was expecting. And now I pretty much have to get Library of Ruina started.

After finishing it, I'm not really a fan of the current last abno fight in LoR; I'm probably also a bad deck-builder, but having to rely on breaking the swords with big rng swing cards is super annoying, since basically after the first phase the tank is starting to run empty since there's no more emotion levels to get. Basically I felt like I had to restart too many times because sometimes you just need to hit the crucial roll to get the breaks early, or you eat a ton more damage/stagger. You definitely want to finish the fight in the second break, I don't think it'd possible to win after that.

I watched someone else play, and it's pretty simple with the right deck. If you take the Faint Memories card with the page that starts on 25% health, it's an obscenely strong combo to block the x3 sword. Oscar is a no-brainer - everything is weak to pierce and he has a few very high roll cards. My third librarian was just Olga I think for some high numbers. Focus v heavily on ATTACK ATTACK ATTACK and it goes pretty smoothly.

I don’t have yujins page, but maybe it was just bad luck rolling garbage on the 6-18 Pierce vs the big sword in despair phase more than once.

Library of Ruina, just got to the beginning of act 3. You know for all of Angela's talk of freedom and getting revenge on A, all she's done is repeat every single one of his mistakes. She's putting on a stage-play of her own, forcing the Sephira to once again be a part of a murder game they did not sign up for, except this time, they have to do the murders with their own bare hands. And just like before she has absolutely no regard for human life and it all comes second to fulfilling her own desires. God, I hate her.

No Library update this week but you might be excited to learn Project Moon's actual cafe that somehow got memed into reality opened today. I guess they kind of own a cafe now? It's supposed to change themes every few months, like being themed after the upper layer of Lob Corb from September through November. They insist that it isn't paid for with Library of Ruina's crowdfunding money, and that it won't affect development. If you uh, happen to be visiting in the area of Gyeonggi, you can make reservations here. They say they'll begin selling merch in addition to the food next month. https://twitter.com/jozzzzz_k/status/1289419828411772928 lets hang out fucked around with this message at 18:39 on Aug 1, 2020 |

I started playing Library of Ruina only because it's the only single player card game that's modern that isn't a rogue-like or has paywalls that I know of at the moment. I'm actually digging the plot and I read a plot synopsis of Lobotomy Corporation on Reddit and am reading through TeeQueue's playthrough. I'm at Urban Legend and the game does summarize what happened in the 100% ending of LC although it's at an extremely slow pace. I had some questions. 1. Is there any hope for the devs to reduce the grind after early access is finished? I didn't realize burning books consumes invitation invites and had to re-fight through a series of story battles. I also want to get Key Pages but I know people in here complained about having to farm them for ages. Dragging out battles to increase emotion for better drop rates seems tedious too. 2. I started unlocking key pages with an extra speed dice slot but I didn't realize you only keep drawing one page per turn and not reshuffling your entire deck and drawing a new hand like I'm used to in card games I've played. Any tips on when to use the extra slots so I'm not stuck with Librarians who only have 1 page each turn? 3. From what I've read Urban Plague is the most current story chapter that's completely finished correct? I'm planning on stopping there and waiting for full release or when the game gets too difficult or grindy.

1.) For emotion, enemies tend to be capped pretty low at emotion level 1 or 2 (FOR NOW), so you don't have to drag it out too long. That said it is still grindy, although later fights tend to drop more generic Books of X Office which also have a chance to drop important key pages? I don't have anything to say except the extremely unhelpful "I didn't mind it" so hopefully they do some rejiggering soon. They're p good with patch changes. 2.) The card distribution is kind of out of whack at the moment. You'll get a lot of generic, only dice and no mechanic cards for most of the early game, but pretty soon you will start getting cards with FAR more mechanics like "draw a card", "gain 1-3 light", buff cards, pages with unique mechanics like discards or "gain a card and a light if you do nothing" e.t.c. So there's no advice except keep playing until you reach all that, unfortunately! You will eventually get the cards to keep up with multiple dice. -- Also some advice, attacks are aimed at DICE and not at your characters. So if you roll a 5 and a 4, and an enemy targets your 5 dice while you target them with your 4 dice, you'll both one-sided attack each other (as long as the target doesn't change, anyway). Strategy with multiple dice! 3.) Correct o-mundo. Here's a spoiler image of the finished last chapter, and the latest invites added. (no detail and blurred icons). https://lpix.org/3814664/ruina.jpeg

Latest update and it's another little'un... cool new deck archetype though, they're based around having only one copy of each card and drawing their entire deck. Yet another deck that works surprisingly well with ink over! Also seems the AI now actually uses strategy, because they all constantly attacked my patron librarian non-stop without ever going for anyone else. If she hadn't had Oscars page it'd have gone poorly for me. Chinely fucked around with this message at 13:35 on Aug 3, 2020 |

Even with Oscar's page, I got absolutely trounced. I probably could have better decks for my other characters but the game is really not kidding around. The worst part of losing it that it requires Sweeper books so you have to do that scenario all over again .

Got dunked on with my Shi+GUN floor twice, and won with Malkuth's power hour (Olga, Oscar, Geyong-Mi and Salvador). Apparently the trick was to let them wail on one librarian and then use one side attacks to stagger one of them and repeat (admittedly it helped I got the Display of Affection to proc and had the Oscar librarian stall two guests by their lonesome).

Ah, so this the Love Town that was being meme’d on the steam reviews... though to be honest I couldn’t get past the first act and was wondering when the Mili song popped up so I YouTubed Act2. I think I need to do the other Urban Plague episodes first then have Love Town be the “final” boss for me then wait for LoR to leave early access

Don't get discouraged! I hit love town originally and got majorly put out, but after a few days of thinking about it I went again and blasted through. Just make sure you have four librarians, it's possible to hit it early like I did and only have three available. All the advantages you can, a decent deck archetype and you'll be golden.

My reaction was to how unsettling the plot and situation of Love Town is. Body horror also irks me out the most of all the Horror genre tropes. I did indeed beeline it just to see what the meme was about and I only had 3 librarians.

If you get stuck even then: It helps if you use gaze office’s cards as the keystone to make a focused 3xDraw cards/3x light regain/ 1x observe/2x opportunity spotted beat down deck with 4 different 2-die books, as well. I call it deletion floor. It destroys the big boy so you only really have to worry about clearing the chaff.

On my first playthrough of LobCorp, on day 7 and I think there's only been one day where I've gotten more than 3 LOB. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong?
|
# ? Aug 5, 2020 09:07 |

This is normal. LOB bonuses are low in early game and get larger as you go, as long as you're getting an S or an A rank every day you're getting as many LOB as possible.

By the way, I'm curious if I got this one right in LobCorp, Angela is Keter, the crown, and the player is Da'at, existing within and without the game, correct? It fits with their relative places in the tree, even if Angela's location is implied rather than being a department

Angela is her own thing entirely. Keter is A, which is why the entire buildout involves suppressing him like 3 times. Da'at is Carmen... or what's left of her, anyways. You can see it on day 50/challenge mode, and it's just her spaghetti monster in a big vat of cogito.

This guy is arguably the weirdest gimmick in the game- like, it's trivial to deal with but it's the only one in the entire game where I went 'wait, how the *hell* was I supposed to figure this out?' Even its WAW counterpart is easier to deal with since you'll probably be doing the correct action by default the first time you work it.

Honestly I didn't find it that hard to figure out. While loving around with it at some point I just kinda noticed that while I had gotten successes on it, it was never while I was actively looking at it and had a bit of an epiphany moment. It helps that this game's very inspired by SCP, and one of the most famous SCPs has a similar relationship with movement and vision.

So, continuing my first run, my facility (besides the default OSaHoGD) now consists of Forsaken Murderer, 1.76 MHz, YMBH, Punishing Bird, Old Lady and the newest addition Der Freischütz (already had to restart the day becasue the fucker got ornery). Any minimum-spoiler advice on what abnormalities I should be fishing for/ what I should avoid/ how does my current setup look in general/ any cool tricks I can pull with these?

Be very careful of Der Freischütz's weapon. It is very powerful but can also cause a lot of collateral damage. Give it to an agent who you can keep by themselves and they will do just fine.
