Yip eyed the scythe greedily, it would be a perfect weapon to strike with from hidden places, though it suspected a bigger, stronger cobbold would get at it first.

Regardless, Yip crept up to mother Magdalene and tugged at her cloak gently. "Yip think orcses nicely, is for to work with good! No witch-finding is our motto, only cobbold helpers yes?" Hedgehog-eyes gleaming with innocence.

When warren-talked transitioned to what should be done about the nasty hunams however, Yip was much less pro-active. "Be safe in hol'm." "Make hol'm safe." was all anyone could get out of him, though judging by the extremely poor quality trap-door he was trying to build using sticks and spit, one could surmise the little guy was for shoring up the warrens defences, rather than risking themselves in attack or wallowing in false security.

Poor little Yip. Weaponless, hungry and frightened. So little, so unsure of the world. The only thing he really knew was hiding, but how would that help the warren Hol'm, when the time for battle began?

Yip looked to Mother Magdalene for help. But she was weak, unconscious. A tiny bundle, bleeding for the Hol'm.

Inspiration struck, and make-shift shovel followed.

Yip might be too weak to pose a credible offence, yes.
Yip might be too dumb to parley, yes.
Yip might be too small to frighten, yes.
But Yip knew how to hide. And so he hid her where no one would find her, until it was over.

To Yip it made perfect sense to build the hospital Mother Magdalene rather than risk injuring her by moving her around the trap filled warren. And since only Yip knew where she was hidden, naturally it fell to him to build it!

Yip's eyes grew wide, and then wider still, as the lesser demon Ceres passed around the Hyperleaf to the gathered, innocent Cobbolds.
Coughing up bile, Yip took a handful of leaf and stuffed into a tiny satchel that quickly disappeared amongst the spikes and fur and odd-angles of the stealthy, cowardly creature.

Little yip took his hyper leaf and ripped it apart with his beak, letting the fragrant fragile foliage fragments rain down into his throat. Within seconds, Yip was a vibrating blur, his already diminutive form blurring at the edges, to the point where it was hard to keep track where he was even when he wasn't hiding.

With a tiny yelp, the little cobbold vanished, heading off to bury its claws deep into the Clerics neck.

Little Yip was nowhere to be found, at first. At first the others thought him merely hiding, but in truth he was standing stock-still, eyes locked with the Cleric, out by the Orcs, in plain sight under the pale moon.
Clutching something close to his heart.

'There was a farm.' He said, voice quavering. "Do you remember?" "On the outskirts of Lithenberg, by the forests edge, near the glassy dessert, down south-west." "You're retinue we're out there, hunting dwarrow for your Lord. Collapsing mines, burning them out. The villagers of Lithenberg had always been dwarf-friend, relying on their ores to build with and to trade. You had doomed them to starvation, but cared not. Lusting only for blood and glory. Somehow, you knew your work was not yet done. So you rounded them up, tortured them, demanding to know what traitors held the last of the small ones hidden. They broke, of course. And with torches and swords you found that farm, and burned that too, giving no care to who was inside.

And who wasn't."

Little Yip held the Holy Symbol out in front of him, looked down upon it questioningly. "If this is your Holy Lord, then what are demons, if not angels?"

Little Yip spent the entire downtime in the Workshop, working on his new silverfish suit, occasionally going to Ceres or Neat to ask for advice when a problem proved particularly tricky (which for little Yip was practically all the time) - sooner or later, when other Cobbolds pushed in with projects of their own, Yip got so flustered he spat out some bile and started carving out a little section for himself, so he could work in peace. As he did so, he tried to remember what it was the Cleric had actually done. Had she burned it all down, like he thought she did, or did the fires come later, and she had actually helped out with the crops? Looking at her behaviour now in the prison lent more credence to the former theory, but Yip didn't know what the word 'credence' meant so in all honesty, it was a wash.

Little Yip was beside himself. Liv had listened to him! She wanted to fix her armour! But silly Orekses couldn't fix armour by themselves, that was why they came to the cobbolds in the first place! Yip Could hardly contain his nervous energy any more and jumped on top of the table and lay into Liv's armour with his sharp scythes simultaneously cutting off all the bindings at once, dropping it into his waiting, now bile-covered hands.

Yip yip! Yipped yip and looked dismissively at the poor quality leather breastplate he had before him. The belt buckles were all wrong, the chest piece, though moulded, wasn't properly supportive and the neckline was far too revealing for combat.
The combatant it was intended to needed her arms free for throwing things, but Yip noted with disgust how the warrior would run out of things to throw after but a moments conflict. No no, this wouldn't do at all!

Rubbing his claws with satiation, Yip began to massage the leather into steel, taking care to etch protective runes into it as he went. He grabbed some dirt of the H'olm floor, plate from the table and the one troublesome bandolier and crushed them all in his mandibles thoughtfully, before spitting out three fresh hardened leather belts, complete with protective pockets fit to hold any manner of throwing weapon or potion.

Lastly, he took a couple of the stray throwing axes that he had accidentally pulled down with the armour and set them out in a ring on the floor, drawing a complex diagram around them with satiation, melting them into solution like quicksilver which he gently poured over the top of the armour, forming a gorget that melded seamlessly into the rest of the outfit. With a final scratch of his claws he added a simple and informative reminder that the bladed part of weapons should be pointed downwards when the intent was not to kill - not everyone was as clever as a cobbold and sometimes they needed reminding, after all.

When he was done, he handed the armour back to Liv with an expectant, almost childishly hopeful look upon his many-eyed face.

"Is four you!"

Yip got a crazed look in his eyes as he lugged his new Knight Armour and sword to the workshop, but after checking all his pocketses and even the hidden nook for saved satiation, he came up short for the project he had in mind. Even the bloodflower or the new hanging gardens were of little help, only bringing him a few more scraps closer to his goal, but leaving him drained and woozy. Or maybe the wooziness was just his natural state, with Yip, it was hard to tell.

At one point he bumped into Mother Magdalene as she was villainously monologuing in front of the demons - somehow, even dragging the clunky suit of armour behind him, she didn't notice him approach, and neither did Yip see her above all his new gear - and after the dust had settled and profuse, confused apologized were gushed in her general direction and a soothing froggy paw scruffed his hedgehog spikes to indicate that everything was alright - the little cobbold sat down dutifully as Mother Magdalene asked him to tell her a tale of battle, as she had missed out on most of the fighting.

"Ohs! Yip was sneaksing, foundem hidey spot for boomers and tasty hunams, but they talk and sing and sing and talk and some draw but with old, boring colours until Yip leave. Saw big fightman though. Later, Yip saw tall Elvis in damp trees, many bow, many bow, also big circle wardy thing but symbol make it pop! Anyway, when is eats? Can we eats all Hunams? Can we eats Elvis?"

Long after he was done talking to Mother Magdalene, he noticed she had left his spikes full of bile. What a thoughtful gift! Rushing with his new fortune to the workshop, Yip began work on his masterpiece, the Silverfish Armour Mk2.

Yip was scouting. Yip was falling. Yip had no idea what was going on. Suddenly, Cobbolds started yelling, so Yip did whatever the biggest, meanest one was doing, because that seemed prudent at the time.

Oh THAT was why the Elvises were mean, they had bad eggs! Yip knew how to fix things, as all cobbolds did. And how to make them better. Making better eggs shouldn't be too hard. After all, wasn't that what farming was all about? Now, what was it that Cleric did..

Yip vanished one day. No one knew if he had just turned invisible, or ran away, or gone on an extended scouting mission. No one but mother Magdalene who kept coyly vague as to his whereabouts. And Liv, who claimed to have seen him at some point, somewhere amongst the canopies of the forest. Besides that, the only trace of him was a missing corpse from the flesh pile, three missing flesh fruit from the garden and pock-marks all over H'olm where someone with rather vicious claws had removed material for unknown reasons. Also, the giant crater in the workshop, surrounded by piles of strange but now broken tools.
