I know a bunch from reading blogs and the Sherdog forums in the past, but I don’t feel like I ever got a comprehensive history. there's a few good Youtube videos about them: Felix Biederman touched on it in Fighting In The Age of Loneliness, and MMA On Point did a whole video about BJJ vs Luta Livre that included the riot in Rio when Renzo faced Eugenio Tadeu.

(yeah I know Rick's Tire Barn hasn't sponsored guys in a while, but Woodley had a DOBBS TIRE AND AUTO CENTERS logo on his trunks for a while which made me happy even though Dobbs' prices suck compared to their competitors here in the STL metro.)

couple people on Reddit (yeah, I know) pointed out that Venum also makes gloves...which are known for having shoddy build quality and padding that goes bad. interesting to see where this leads. also Nike got into MMA a while back with Jones, JdS, and Anderson Silva, only to get out right quick after dos Santos had his fight with Cormier and JBJ did literally everything. when their brand image now is being woke what with Kaep, the NBA/WNBA, etc., they wouldn't touch the UFC with a 39-and-a-half foot pole.

For those that didn't watch, Wittman was basically saying that he wants his products available to everyone but UFC wants ownership/exclusivity to get in business with him, so for now it's stalled. yeah, Rogan and Rashad Evans were going on about how the gloves were pre-curved and had tech that would prevent eye poking. however the UFC wants the patent for them and Wittman isn’t going to give those up (as is his right). just bring back the hinged Pride FC gloves. and Pride rules, and Pride in general.
