I'd heard the site had gone the way of Tumblr in its weirdly regressive virtue-signalling neoliberalism, but this just takes the cake. Furry is a fetish, it's purely a sex thing. Two gay dudes or two lesbians have a relationship outside of sex, it's their orientation, not just a kink. Hell, you can condition fetishes into people or cure fetishes, you can't convert people's sexual orientation. Homosexuality has been conflated with fetishes by conservatives forever, now it seems like liberals are doing the same thing but saying it's okay. It's also a creepy fetish for children's media and imagery, normal gay people are just into adults of the opposite sex, so it's nothing like that. And for that they're criminalised in 70 countries and stuck in asylum detention centres after fleeing persecution, so this poo poo is important. The only problem furries face is people making fun of them, and if they can't handle that, they shouldn't tell everyone on the internet about their fetish. I've been on SA less and less recently but I swear every time I look at it it gets more backward, anti-materialist and homophobic while pretending it's progressive and left-wing. If it's not throwing the word "queer" around like it's going out of style, or calling lesbians and transsexuals terfs for not validating some straight dude's catgirl fetish, it's refusing to look at any evidence of abuse by mods or staff because it's hosted on the chans, Kiwi Farms, some problematic subreddit or some other site we don't like. It's like nobody learned after Aatrek and Shmorky, who could say all the right buzzwords and "progressive" shibboleths to avoid being cancelled while they were guilty of horrific abuse. I'll take people who genuinely mean well but use clumsy language over nonces, homophobes and wifebeaters hip to the woke lingo any day. I do hope the site recovers one day, but it's in an absolute state right now.

I was gonna commend Phiz's efforts on the frontpage but jesus loving christ... this has to be a "gently caress y'all" on the way out. It's the only explanation I can think of. It was always right to make fun of furries. It will never be wrong to make fun of furries. To link this to queerphobia is some massive amount of loving missing every point one could possibly miss. Somebody take his access away before he apologizes to the alt-right or wifebeaters next.

this is legitimately one of the worst articles i have ever read in my life, and having read it not only did i fail to get across a coherent apology(the article seemed more interested in mocking furries) but there was random misogynistic jokes throw in, and it comes across as almost condescending to lgbtq issues. also, the prose is dogshit. i dont normally post here but this article is truly something awful

Here's an idea: Phiz comes out as a furry on every platform he so chooses except the SA frontpage. That way SA as a whole is not perceived to be apologizing to furries for rightfully making fun of them for being furries. It's a win-win situation.

the masculinity article made me uncomfortable and unhappy in ways i can't really define because it seemed to be mocking a lot of probs i had integrating with dudes when i was young and going through some gender based poo poo. but mainly i combed over it looking for a joke and nothing. maybe i missed something but judging by everyone else's reactions to this and the furry article, no. i thought the article calling out lowtax was funny because calling out lowtax on his own website is funny.

Would love to hear from people who like Phiz's front page articles. Do you guys find them funny at all, clever, important from the social justice/forums image perspective, what's the angle? I know some goons like Phiz as a poster, so surely there must be an audience for that type of writing, but I'm struggling to see the appeal, to be perfectly frank.
