Twenty five years ago I rated Hamlet pretty highly, but in retrospect (and with a much greater understanding of the text) there’s a lot of very questionable choices, and a great deal of Ken’s performance shows a poor understanding of the character, and is frequently overwrought as a substitute. I remember enjoying the Richard III at the time, but I haven’t seen it since the 90’s.
