That thread and JakeP were discussed (to death) in the QCS thread "Why won't you let us keep posting in the Yikeseroo thread?" quote:This thread has been super interesting because it further highlights how Lowtax got away with his abuse and the extent to which he made this site and community complicit. Even mods aren't transparent to other mods, everyone has their own little area and are completely in the dark to the other areas. Lowtax could show up and create whatever narrative he wanted and most of them seem to have said "not my business", thrown out or rubberstamped some bans or ignored it entirely, and moved on. Posters and mods alike tend to be pretty siloed into a handful of forums (or, for undoubtedly many users, a handful of bookmarks). I disagree with what seems to be a conclusion that this siloing somehow contributed to the abuse, though. Rubber-stamped bans definitely have the potential to be bad and are hopefully not a thing that happens at this point.
