I use two Kayaks: This one is a smaller Emotion brand I picked up from REI for around 300. I use it in creeks around here, since a lot of times I'm having to drag over low water and it takes a beating. Simple and cheap. It tracks pretty well and the chair isn't bad. 2nd one is a12 foot Hobie Mirage Outback: This one is fantastic for big water and has been down the entire length of the Mississippi river no issues. It's one of the older Hobie so the seat is the old bad kind. They've updated it since on their new ones. It's also heavy as hell. The fin system on Hobie Kayaks is worth the price and the ability to keep both hands free while moving forward is fantastic.

Epitope posted:I haven't taken a lazy river ride like that since moving away from Indiana. Lots of good ones in IN, and warm water so no stress if you tip over. Floating the water through turkey run state park is fantastic. Great views, perfect water, good swimming. occluded posted:Hey can I post in this thread about how loving excited me and my partner are to go do some kite surfing next week? I guess a board is kind of a little craft?

mcmaken6 posted:I really like canoeing on streams and rivers, but I always use a livery. I have thought about getting my own for a bit, but I just don't understand how it would work...like, if you park your car, push the canoe into the water, enjoy your trip downstream.....how do you get back to the car? Friends and family willing to pick you up or drop you off. Even if they don't have a vehicle for your boat, you can drop your boat where you put in, go park you vehicle, your friend can take you back to your boat and you paddle to your car.

Water can get muddy as hell after flooding, but you can always find cool stuff.
