Please follow the arrows, someone will show you to your cell.” It was fifteen years ago that the lumpen succeeded at entirely upending class society. After years of back-breaking labor you can barely remember if you fought for the proletariat or the bourgeoisie in the war, but you still have a bitter pride that you knew that if the anarchists won there would be nothing stopping organized crime. You had always heard that the Mafia turned the biggest prisons into casinos to run sick games for people to bet on, but you never thought you’d be transferred to one. Your cell is depressingly meager, but you do have an ancient computer. poo poo, not even solitaire. Only a thread on a decrepit looking webforum, two chat rooms you share with other players, and the video player that lets you see the announcement of the day’s execution… Hello and welcome to Red Green Blue Rock Paper Scissors. This is a game for nine players that will be split into three teams… twice. Everyone will be on Team Red, Green, or Blue. Everyone will be on Team Rock, Paper, or Scissors. You will have a chat on Discord with both of your teams. Every day, every inmate has one vote on who will play a game of rock paper scissors. The top two vote leaders play. Hammer is when all outstanding votes not on the top two will not change the top two. The loser is executed. The winner receives a boon depending on how strong the defeat is. In addition to normal RPS rules, the team colors do matter. Rock beats Scissors beats Paper beats Rock Red beats Green beats Blue beats Red  Red Rock vs Blue Scissors as an example is a draw. Red Rock vs Green Rock is a 1 point win for Red Rock. Red Rock vs Red Scissors is a 1 point win for Red Rock. Red Rock vs Green Scissors is a 2 point win for Red Rock. The first three times a draw occurs, neither player dies. From then on if the players draw both are executed. The winner’s boon is one cop per point in their win. The cop can be used to discover either the RGB or RPS alignment of the player of the winner’s choosing. The boon must be used the night of win or it is forfeited. The game is over when only one team remains, which may be an RGB or RPS team. In addition, if the final surviving three or fewer players all draw with each other, they also win as a team. Rules: 1) Don’t be a dick. 2) Don’t edit your posts. 3) Don’t post if you are not a living inmate. 4) Don’t post after the hammer. 5) No copy/paste or screenshots of mod communication or your team chats. 6) Probably don’t lurk. Mafia can NK one lurker a day, which is defined as under 10 posts a game day (unless the day ends more than 12 hours before deadline). Or they can choose not to. Maybe you are active enough in Discord chats, yeah? Hey it’s their prison casino, I’m just the warden. im confused. from most of the op i assumed this was a mafia-like experimental game, but then suddenly in the rules you mention the existence of a mafia team and nightkills. so there will be a mafia wincon in addition to the 6 other wincons, but no generic town wincon in opposition to that?

If I was a crazy coder, I think it would be neat to have a simulated bookie where the Mafia would have to set odds, and so then their agency in regards to killing lurkers or breaking ties could have the motivation of rigging bets to some extent, but that's more ambitious than I think I can really pull off. But even then it would be the Gamblers trying to beat the house with their bets in opposition as a side game. All inmates are competing only against the other inmates, so calling it a mafia-like experimental game is correct. I think by definition it has to be perfectly balanced, because everyone starts with the same amount of relative known and unknown information. I'm very curious to see what strategies people try, and what ends up working or winning. Also I suppose you could say that everyone is a survivor, not town. Everyone's goal is the prize of being released from prison, and it doesn't matter if you are on Team Red, and Team Red wins if you are dead before Team Red wins release from prison. ok i think i get it. so if there aren't any lurkers in a day then there will be no nightkill. and the mafia just gets the benefit (or detriment) of one extra side-masonry without an actual shared wincon. 1 more question: if i win 2 points in a day, i can (and must) use bith cops in the following night? also, yeah sure i'll join this game

like, consider this example: 7 people vote for player A. players B and C are on different people. that's still not hammer yet, which is wild. but when it gets into, like, 5 on A, 2 on B, 2 on C, im like... figuring out when something is actually hammer is gonna be so complicated

im pretty sure in that example i just gave of 5A 2B 2C, a voter on A could swap their vote to either B or C and that would result in hammer, despite them swapping off the lead. this is so weiiirrdd

Correct. 7-1-1 is not hammer. 5-2-2 is not hammer. 4-3-2 is hammer. (Presuming D1 / 9 possible votes)

Day could still end with the votes being 7-1-1 or 5-2-2, and then Mafia will vote in private which of the tied second place players to spare from the day's competition.
