Wade Keller finally got viewership numbers for the company

163k this week, highest since May; up 7k from last week and 28k from two weeks ago
Tied their highest 18-49 viewership of the year
Viewership's dropped due to corona (147k average since April; 174k average in Jan, Feb, and March)
Still easily the most-viewed thing on AXS

The verdicts for Anthem v Jeff Jarrett are in

quote:

*The jury ruled that Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC is liable to Plaintiff Global Force Entertainment, Inc. for federal trademark infringement of the registered mark GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING, violation of the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act, unjust enrichment, negligence, conversion, and federal unfair competition for infringement and Tennessee trademark infringement for usage of the GFW logo.

*The jury ruled that Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC is liable to Plaintiff Jeffrey Jarrett for violation of the Tennessee Personal Rights Protection Act.

*The jury ruled Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC was liable for federal trademark infringement of the mark GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING.

*Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC is liable for unfair competition for infringing upon the GFW logo.

*Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC is liable for Tennessee trademark infringement for usage of the GFW logo.

*The jury ruled in favor of Global Force Entertainment, Inc. on its unjust enrichment claim, ruling that Anthem used the GFW content for their own enrichment without having the license to do so.

*The jury ruled that that Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC was negligent in deleting the original footage of the GFW Amped content.

*Anthem Wrestling Exhibitions, LLC is liable for conversion for its deletion of the original footage of the Amped content.

*However, the jury ruled that Anthem Wrestling Entertainment, LLC’s liability in this action was caused by Jeff Jarrett’s own breach of his fiduciary duty and his duty of loyalty and that Mr. Jarrett is liable to Anthem Wrestling for such breaches, so there may be damages he has to pay to Anthem.

*The jury ruled that Anthem’s conduct against Jarrett/GFW was willful.

quote:

While the jury came back with those verdicts, they have yet to award damages or punitive damages and Anthem is attempting to have everything thrown out of court to restart the entire trial process all over again.

Fightful says they're doing a two-night event, Emergence, for their shows on the 18th and 25th https://www.fightful.com/wrestling/exclusives/impact-running-two-night-emergence-special-event-women-s-match-headlines-exclusive

Nothing known so far except apparently Deonna Purrazzo defending the Knockouts title against Jordynne Grace, with some kind of stipulation, is the main event of the second night

Gallows and Anderson mentioned last week in an interview with Sportskeeda that they're trying to get Styles back in the company

I didn't post about it because I thought it was a joke

It's not, per Styles :stare: https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2020/08/aj-styles-responds-to-gallows-and-anderson-saying-they-are-673232/

AJ Styles posted:

I don't know what to think about that; you guys know how I feel about that. Yeah, Gallows and Anderson are trying to get me back...Never say never but I also have said that I would like to finish my career in the WWE. So, we will see.

https://411mania.com/wrestling/details-on-impact-wrestling-ratings-for-past-seven-months/

quote:

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has acquired the ratings and viewership numbers for Impact Wrestling in the past seven months on AXS TV, which are down from January but seem to be ticking upward.

January: 169,000 viewers, 0.04 (49,000 viewers) in 18-49
February: 181,000 viewers, 0.04 (54,000 viewers) in 18-49
March: 161,000 viewers, 0.03 (36,000 viewers) in 18-49
April: 144,000 viewers, 0.02 (27,000 viewers) in 18-49
May: 153,000 viewers, 0.03 (34,000 viewers) in 18-49
June: 141,000 viewers, 0.02 (32,000 viewers) in 18-49
July: 153,000 viewers, 0.03 (44,000 viewers) in 18-49.

Impact has a much older audience than any of the other wrestling shows, and is the most watched show on AXS TV. Impact had 28.8% 18-49 viewers in July, compared to 38.2% for RAW, 51% for AEW, 32.7% for NXT and 34% for Smackdown. NXT and Smackdown has a median age of 55-57, so it seems Impact is even older than that.

1) They peaked when Tessa was champ and able to regularly appear
2) Kinda surprised they have an older audience than WWE
3) These numbers honestly don't seem terrible at all at a glance? As Bix and I pointed out two weeks ago, Wade posting their numbers from that week's show showed their 18-49 viewership a) tied their highest of the year and b) was high enough to make the top 100 if listed on ShowbuzzDaily

edit: ^^ oh, didn't even think it might be on a compilation like that. Nice
It used to be on Dailymotion but it's not anymore :smith: Not on BilliBilli either. Only other place I could think of is Impact+ the streaming service (with a free trial available) has the ep with the promo on it, but obviously that's no help for just finding the promo only

It's from the October 18 2007 Impact

He wasn't bad in the Moose match, that's the only non-promo/segment I've seen him in so far

He's still pretty funny in segments, so at least they're letting him stick with what he likes

Also it gives Eddie reprieve from keeping the pace of the high amount of matches he was having since winning the belt. Weekly title defenses isn't a bad concept, but I don't think we need any more of that on national TV for a while

Isn't EY an ACTUAL cancer survivor? Its why his voice is like that, I think? He's had like a dozen throat surgeries.

Throat polyps

Young in 2017 posted:

Four months ago, I had surgery number 18 since 2004. Brian Pillman, actually, had the same thing. [Per Wiki: As a child, Pillman developed multiple throat polyps and underwent between thirty-one and thirty-six operations to tend to them, many before the age of three.] The easiest way [to explain it], it’s warts, basically, that grow on your vocal chords. And then, you have to have them removed. And then, they come back. I hid it from everyone. The only person that knew was Bobby Roode and he was the only one. And I was losing my voice and I went and they were like, ‘you have to have this surgery’ and I was like, ‘oh my God, how long am I out?’ and they were like, ‘just a day’. You go in [and] the surgery is only about 40 minutes, but it takes two hours for them to prep you and put you asleep.

He said this WWE contract he just signed is the last one he plans to sign for a company

Meanwhile Gallows and Anderson said this week they hope to retire in TNA (and New Japan now that the TNA deal lets them work there again if/when they can travel)

They wanted their friend to retire with them for one last ride but I doubt it happens, even if Styles changes his mind and wants one more contract. He keeps insisting he's comfortable aside from the Heyman situation, and traveling to Japan all the time would almost certainly be out of the question for him in his mid-40s with a big family in America
