Karen Bass is one of those politicians that *appears* to not be hyper-ambitious, so she's been fine with being a California Representative for ~10 years. When your aspirations aren't national, you think local, and you do a lot of things that turn out to be mistakes in the long-term. Mistakes like giving speeches / praising Scientology in your district, plus working with a Castro-leaning group long in the past. These are complete and utter nothingburgers when you're a Representative from California. They're real Problems everywhere else if you're suddenly on the shortlist for a national position like VP.

Having long since gotten rid of the racists and chuds from my Facebook feed, I have been living in a bubble of reason and reality, breached only when a friend responds to a chud. Things I learned this morning about what they believe: - Sweden is still a model of COVID response. It doesn't matter that they had a much higher death rate than any of their neighbors and an economic collapse, the curve is decreasing which means they achieved herd immunity - The Democrats are trying to cover this up so America doesn't learn that we can beat the virus without the tyranny of masks and lockdowns This country is hosed.
