In fairness, if I was a mid career vet in the middle of a contract I would absolutely be opting out to get a chance to heal up while keeping a guaranteed job

Skwirl posted:What happens if you opt out? Do you get any compensation for the year? If you had four years left on your contract will you have 3 or 4 years in the season starting 2021? How does it affect the salary cap if a team really needs to fill in a hole in a position a player who opted out was gonna be in? They get a stipend of i think $350k, and don't accrue the season on their contract

I remain astonished that even if Brian Flores eventually flames out, he has yet to drink from the poisoned cup of aping Belicheck's curmudgeon vibe.

Given how important safeties are these days, I'm surprised it's that low. Below Howard and Jones for instance, and way below Ramsey

He's not quite a $20m a year guy. 16-18, sure absolutely. But if he held out for 20 or bust I can understand where he is

Are you going to really care about quarantine when your team sucks and you have a chance to go out and party? Yeah. Also they've been isolating for maybe four weeks now. That's gotta hold up another four months.
