My sister told me about Euphoria. Boy that series is dark.

I had to ask if she's allowed to watch it and she laughed that a lot of kids her age do because it's a show aimed at teens. That wasn't really my point. Media exploits children all the time. And I'm sure her parents wouldn't stop her. But like...

Eh. I guess there has to be an age X where you know what you're allowed to do at age X. If it's much older than 12 you're probably going to have a bad time since people won't really prevent you from doing much anymore or at least you can't count on them for such before you've done it and suffered the consequences. Kids get it wrong all the time but you can't be like 14 and need someone to tell you that you're not allowed to go to a party with college kids. Since you can. But like you can't. If that makes sense. And she's older than 12.

This has been my patented multi-topic posting style to ensure there's something for everyone.

I don't know how much control you can really exercise over what a kid will watch. I wasn't allowed to watch certain things growing up, but also I would go online and see a man's gaping rear end in a top hat or eels shooting out of a woman's butt and real life death videos and making GBS threads dick-nipples and all that.

should def teach teens not to go ruin college parties, nobody wants their fun party getting cops called on it because a bunch of annoying rear end teens trying to sneak in, literally the only people who think it would be "cool" to have teens at a party r perverts

Oh LOL no it's not about exercising control or even protecting the impressionable. (If anything she is a goody-goody who presumes most things are worse than they are and I seriously worry she'll be utterly clueless the first time she does certain "adult" things.) It's about developing the self-knowledge that you are a mass of raging hormones semi-controlled by an underdeveloped brain which can make bad decisions, and who needs to know you might be old enough to break arbitrary rules like TV-14 but not certain other rules. Like, you shouldn't have to be told you're not old enough to post certain things to on social media (which ironically the creepy corporations who want your data say is 13). You should just know. By like 12 you should probably be able to form the thought "I should probably be like 16 or older before I decide to get a tattoo". Not long after that your parents will assume you know this stuff and even if they don't and are overprotective you have the opportunity to do it all behind their backs anyways.

It was more of a "What? Come on you aren't meant to watch this, how can you not know that?" worry than a "Oh no bad things on the screen" worry. But apparently it's like, okay?

Speaking of new media, I had this thought about the old:

I wonder when if ever I will want to re-watch GOT. Like I imagine if they just ended it after season 4 or 5 I would have definitely come back to 1 and 2 after a decade or so because those seasons were banging. But knowing how it all ends somehow ruins the earlier material even though it makes no sense why it should. It's like knowing what a let down certain character arcs are I can't enjoy Stannis being a bad rear end or Tyrion being clever or Cersei or Littlefinger being ruthless.

Actually the fourth book ruined early Cersei for me. Reading her from the third-person through others' eyes made me look forward to getting behind hers and yet when it happens she's just a clumsy power-hungry noblewoman no different than the others. Actually Tyrion in that book too. When he internal monologues about the attack on Bran or the Purple Wedding I am like seriously dude this is how a genius thinks? You've done better GRRM.

Conversely some of the later material validated the foreshadowing of way back. e.g. When Stannis goes full baddy you remember what Renly told Ned: "We both know what Stannis is." We the audience didn't. But they did. And boy did they. And You might start to think Tywin is some mastermind before he gets offed in the privy and you remember just how many, many mistakes this dude ha made throughout his entire military and civil career.

I've lived a thousand times. I found out what it means to be believed.

Accidentally stumbled upon:

"The Interracial Swingers Podcast"

On spotify when I was searching for a band called "Blown Out." According to the description of one of the episodes "Every guy is thirsty for the lifestyle until they see their girl get destroyed by a BBC." It also appears that the swinger community is not letting COVID-19 get them down, and they are partying and playing hard in Las Vegas.

Wait so the people in the in-group presume that everyone outside of the group wants in? Like that they've attained some semi-exclusive lifestyle?

Like, I'm not sure how high of an admission fee there is for that stuff. If you're a clean, good looking couple who aren't creepy I presume it's not that hard to get a SWIPE RIGHT on some app or social media or something.

Probably don't even have to be good looking. If you're a guy who has found a partner willing to have sex with you and who is willing to do this stuff I'm pretty sure you can easily find a corresponding couple. It's not a Noble Prize right there.

I think it's probably not that they think the lifestyle is exclusive, so much as that they think guys want it and women don't, which would make it difficult for guys who want it to achieve it.

Which might or might not be a statistically accurate opinion.

i wouldn't even consider tv shows and movies to be new media (known about them practically my whole life). a new medium i learned about lately would be tik tok (the app).

Yeah I don't know. I think a signifiant minority of women both like getting poundrd hard by as large a penis as physically plausible and also don't think they should have to hide this fact. It's certainly not an overwhelming majority but if you ever sort pornography by "Female Friendly" or "Popular Anong Women" interacial big dick is always in the Top 10. And some females will also join in on any conversation about the topic earnestly evrn if it was started by guys in a less-than- serious manner.

Now, to what degree and for what percentage of these women it's important eniugh to pursue beyond a fun fantasy, or worth dealing with any associated effort or drama, is another story.
