Woo hoo Actually you will miss them when they are gone because oh poo poo you are getting old and hot flashes are worse, lucky us. (Unless you have really painful periods, I didn't thank God but menopause has been really rough for me so arrggh.) My best period story is I unfortunately had it start once when a boyfriend was going down on me. What are they odds? Not THAT high-I didn't have a charmed life lol. He was p upset, scrubbing at his moustache at the sink, the water turning pink while I laughed helplessly. We were together for years after that, he was a good sport. I also paid 1000 bucks in mid 90s for Norplant, 5 matchstick birth control thingys to be fanned under the skin of my left bicep. Those made me spot continuously destroying my sex life (I was single) until I finally paid hundreds more to have them finally yanked out after only a year. That was total bullshit.

Oh you do not want menopause. Only the unlucky that have terrible pain want menopause. Your periods are keeping you YOUNG. They are preventing heart attacks and wrinkles. One suggestion for you ladies that by the way I love seeing you here!! We are all different I know so it could just be luck but wear a bra constantly including a soft one to bed (unless sexy times or we, lucky you.) I got in the habit of wearing armor type bras when cocktail waitressing, we had these sleeveless tops that had no shoulder covering either so we had to tie our bra straps closer together with shoelaces to hide them. Keeping those babies cinched up made them look younger than my face now. I wear 2 bras when excercising too. Man I miss my periods  Suddenly you age.

Jail and menstruation is a bad combo From an old thread of mine: I had changed into a set of grey scrubs and rubber sandals after the strip search and now was given a thin twin sized rolled up mat and a baggie of toiletries. The baggie contained a travel sized toothbrush and toothpaste, some ginormous pink menstrual pads from the 1950's, and a tiny fine-toothed plastic comb; hilarious considering my thick naturally curly hair, but I thought it could perhaps be used as a weapon in a pinch. Then I was escorted to the cell where I would remain until my release. I had been picturing a row of barred cells like in the movies, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Instead, a narrow foyer bordered a large two story room, the front consisting of glass panels from floor to ceiling so the guards could see everywhere at all times. Inside, at least sixty women of various ethnicities milled about; it looked like a giant aquarium of exotic ugly women. The guard removed my cuffs and took me inside, pointed to the glass right up front and said that's where I should sleep and left. What hit me was the smell, it was a warm heavy odor, so strong it felt like particles should be visible in the air. I knew some of it had to be B.O., but it wasn't just that. After a few minutes I realized I was smelling menstruation, by who knows how many of the women I was locked up with. I'd read about cycles synchronizing among women in close quarters, of course I don't know if that's what was happening, but it was godawful. I was already so hungover I felt shaky and weak, and this was too much. The only furniture in the room were plastic picnic tables chained to the floor so I sat in a nearby one, put my head down, and wallowed in self-pity for a while.

Since mid March I'm following strict self isolation trying not to catch covid so no grocery shopping or stores. 2 days ago I stirred up hot cocoa mix powder into peanut butter and slowly ate the gritty mess off a big spoon I'm so desperate for chocolate.

For me menopause is way worse than any periods I ever had. I had hot flashes for years, still get them once in a while. Hot flashes are actually a very uncomfortable sensation - it's hot you're overwhelmed with sweat and flushed and turn red phenomenon. Plus I have my anxiety now and I never had that before my entire life. All the sudden I'm aging, I look older when I look in the mirror my skin isn't perfect, now wrinkles are starting to form. It's a nightmare I'm telling you!!!

For example I was lucky enough to really not have bad bad cramps more than just a couple of times ever. I recommend being really matter of fact and not saying to a young girl that it's for sure going to be like awful and painful.

Every 20 pages or so I am going to post and tell you all that no you do not want to not have periods. You don't want to be so old as to have menopause. Then you lose the protection estrogen provides against heart disease, aging of the skin, and maybe you'll get like new loving things wrong with your brain just for fun like anxiety after menopause Thank you God  Exception for those of you that have super painful periods
