The Voice of Labor posted:not to trivialize anyone's suffering, but how many orders of cajun rice does a rice cooker, a bag of rice, and whatever reasonably approximates the seasoning cost? I mean, that depends on an awful lot of things. Assuming 1 smaller bag of rice 2 peppers cajun seasoning ground beef chicken gizards Chicken stock onion celery Crystal hot sauce You're gonna get a helluva lot of servings out of $10-15, more or less depending on what you tweek and assuming you started with nothing at all. You're looking at about 10 cups of of cooked product out of a 2lb bag of rice for that, give or take after adding in your meat and bulk options.

Rick posted:Popeyes po boys are for sure missed. Popeyes also used to have wraps that were chicken and red beans and rice back when those were everywhere and they kept them going locally until like 2019 and they were a nice cheap lunch. Man, I miss those wraps. I had a Popeye's across the street from college and between morning and afternoon classes I'd go by and grab either two of those and a soda or one and a side and a soda for lunch at least twice a week. There was also a BK nearby that did $1.00 double cheeseburgers, and if I felt spendy a family owned middle-eastern restaurant/grocery nearby as well. I miss 2009.

Kinda felt like I dreamt the Stroopwafel McFlurry, glad someone else remembers it. Dunno if it counts but Rainforest Crunch ice cream was my jam as a kid and like the rainforests it is gone forever now.

This reminded me of a local ice cream company's flavor I had as a kid that I haven't seen in 20+ years it was dinosaur themed Distressingly blue vanilla ice cream with malted milk balls (a whopper or malteser with no chocolate shell). It was delicious and also turned your poop dark green, like a big glob of seaweed washed up on the beach.

GOONIGHT! mushroom swiss is like one of the standard configurations at a non-fast food restaurant if they serve burgers seems really strange no chain has made it a permanent item or maybe one of them did and i don't know about it??? seems like a wendys kind of thing to do or maybe even an arbys roast beef with mushroom and swiss its a slam dunk why it don't exist???

maybe mushrooms are harder/more expensive to standardize or store or source and prepare locally so it's not this thing that's just always on hand

Hardee's has a Mushroom n' Swiss Angus Thickburger that's been a permanent item for over a decade. Only one I know about.

BK in Malaysia/Singapore has mushroom swiss on the regular menu Doesn't quite make up for the lack of pork but still, not bad.

BK used to have a Mushroom Double Swiss in the UK, but BK don’t exist in London anymore for some reason so I can’t check if they still do.

Sonic used to have a chicken BLT that was delicious. Also their breakfast ham sandwich they used to do as well. I miss them both.

I see Sonic commercials all the time despite never living near one. I went to one in Texas once and it was like a 20 minute drive to get there. Got back home and they left out my burger. I was pissed. Haven't been back since. Well, because there isn't one near me.I usually get a shamrock shake once a year but I forgot. So I am mourning.

I think Whataburger has mushroom swiss on the favorites menu if you are in the right market. According to the FDA defect handbook You can expect to find about 20 maggots and 75 mites in each 100 grams of drained canned mushrooms. ![]() I used to be a vegetarian and gobbled a lot of gross gardenburger whoppers. The burger was called the BK Veggie and about 25% of the time the drive thru kid wouldn't know what the hell I was talking about and I'd wind up with a bun, lettuce, and a lot of mayo. I don't miss that.
