I think it was his choice to try and up his value more by playing well for one more season to get the long term deal he wants. Basically he chose a bridge deal and it looks like his gamble will pay off

Lehner has been pretty vocal about his next contract being a long-term one, I’m curious where he ends up. Chicago seemed like an ideal destination for him with Crawfords deal up soon, but that never happened

Bob was saying on TSN Radio today that the Kings might be leaning towards Stützle at 2nd overall. If Ottawa can come out of the draft with a blue chip, 6’4 centre prospect in Byfield and grab a super high ceiling player like Lucas Raymond at 5, this could be the best draft haul in their history.

After so many years of wet farts in the playoffs the Caps finally got Trotz, who was widely considered to be a great coach and then win the cup that year. Then the owner immediately decides coaching isn’t actually important and lets him walk and goes back to hiring no-namers

It’s becoming blatantly obvious recently that billionaires aren’t billionaires because they’re that much smarter than everyone else

Tough loss, but drat do the Canucks have a nice core to build around. Pettersson and Hughes are two of my favorite players in the league to watch play, and both of them were both unbelievable all playoffs. JT Miller was a fantastic acquisition for this team, A mid-20s pick was well worth it. All of Bennings recent trades have been good, he just needs to stop signing free agents

Is Demko available for the expansion draft?

Bobby is a good dude, he’ll find a spot for close to league minimum as a veteran like Spezza on a young team

Not too sure why they’re buying him out unless they are finally going to use some of their cap space to take on some contracts and picks, which doesn’t sound like Euge. $18mil under the cap floor lol

I know a mid 2nd is whatever and they already drafted two elite prospects with Kakko and Laf, but it seems like they are a little early in their rebuild to be giving up assets to get rid of Marc Staal’s final year? Zib rules, Fox had a fantastic rookie year and Panarin was Hart-level good, but I still feel like their “window” hasn’t opened yet.

if Hank is traded and they grab a 2C/defenseman or two then scratch everything I just typed

Makar, Krug, Girard, Bowen Byram could have an impact as a rookie as early as next year, and they have $22mil in cap space with no really huge rfas to re-sign

They are going to be good for a while
