Hybe made a documentary following Le SSerafim's debut journey and it's sort of weird framing in the trailer with its whole this is tough, do they have what it takes to make it thing and it's Sakura and Chaewon

I think they must have re-shot things because in the last shot in front of the fearless countdown there isn't enough room for another person to have been in that shot

Teddy made a great beat with that sample

then did nothing else for the track lmao. Verses are great again, chorus is just flat, but it doesn't have the bad outro. Probably equal to Pink Venom IMO but still prefer Ready for Love.

The MV was super underwhelming for "most expensive MV in kpop" and "groundbreaking". The callbacks were cool but the video itself was not really anything...?

Yeah Yeah Yeah is a fuckin banger though!

Maybe the rental of the supercar pushed the cost up for that video?

What were the callbacks and what was supposed to be groundbreaking about the video?

As long as their fans like the song and the video, it's all good.

I think I'm too bitter about 2NE1 to ever give Blackpink a real chance, but all I saw was callbacks to 2NE1 videos. :\

quote:

Intro with Lisa (even with the hands moving out of the way) - “Playing with fire” Lisa’s rap scene
The girls in the car with the pink venom mask - “Boombayah” when they are on the bikes
Jennie’s first rap - iconic D4 tank
Lisa’s first rap - Lisa’s “BOOMBAYAH” rap with the trash
Jisoo’s first verse - her umbrella scene in D4
Rose’s first verse - “Whistle” while she’s on top of the world and in her car I’m assuming is “Kill This Love”
Jennie’s second verse - “Playing With Fire” her in the bathtub with the match
Lisa’s second verse - sword from D4
Jisoo’s second verse - D4
Rose’s second verse - the car also reminds me of AIIYL with the tunnel
the chandelier from D4

here's a list someone made, probably more in there

Yeah Yeah Yeah is a fuckin banger though!

I like it better than pink venom, but I agree that it didn't really do much. Its a step forward in that it doesn't sound like a variation on the same set of songs teddy has been doing for the last decade though. I'll probably check the other songs out here at some point.

Personally I wasn't real happy about that whole thing, but I wasn't going to give BP poo poo because of it, and their debut was great. Then it just felt like the exact same song and dance yg pulled with 2ne1, and when they were getting releases it sounded like stuff teddy had been noodling to death for months at best. Basically the girls are great performers and have some great skills and its frustrating to watch them get tracks that are middling.

Did she play bass? My friend saw her in Europe and she brought it out 😍

Managed to get my wife BP tickets for Atlanta, but it was a poo poo show. Signed up and paid for the Weverse membership last week to get access to presale, went through all the steps, and got the confirmation, but they never sent the code for presale access, which was apparently a widespread issue. Just $20 down the drain. Luckily a friend had early bird presale access from already having the membership and had 3 spots left in their order. They also added a second date to Atlanta and the tickets are all $100 more base, which

work is really slow so i've been watching a lot of youtube. whose got the good variety content with good subtitles recs. games and chaos are a must, the interviews always seem p shallow

i think itzy with the little kids on hello82 has been the funniest and cutest
aespa has pretty good travel vlogs and ningning is reliably chaotic
stayc chicago vlog is cool because they actually got out and saw some sites and were excited about it
hybe picnic and the yg special with Na PD were both good. the folk singer guy from AKMU channeling Prince the whole time on the latter was killing me. kept his sunglasses on the whole time and would just wander off and sit in the corner while everyone else is jumping around
i dunno who any of the older solo artists are on either of those but i like the world weary kpop senior archetype
uh what else. nmixx kcon vlogs were boring but they just did a game series where they were all like video game characters that was fun and they dropped plates on their head
i went back and watched the izone eating trip shows too those were pretty good
sunmi on whatever show where they have impersonators was solid

This isn't *quite* what you're after I think, but if you're interested in a mix of interview/chaos that isn't like the same 4 interview questions you always here they're great. Think more in lines with say, hot ones than with normal interview styles.

Hoody's Home Dining: Hoody (AOMG) makes a meal and has conversation/interview with (mostly) other aomg artists. ~30 mins each.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fL1e5LrgSo&list=PLeb2Hd9bOARQhxTs3viCMe40k9acpGcHu

Meenoi's Yorizori: Similar in theme to the previous, Meenoi (8BallTown) does a meal and conversation with artists. A larger spread of people, a little more chaotic, 15-20 mins each.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WIZZwS07djQ&list=PLeb2Hd9bOARRduRxOeT9YIm6BvD6hYYHs

Li Young Ji (no idea what the show is actually called): Another "dinner combined with relaxing/chaotic interview" thing. Young Ji is a riot, these range from 15-30 minutes.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HEF4zBqbH8&list=PLBOye70K3oCG44WKUKinVq2_9ETB_Rwtl

Shows similar in terms of "interview that isn't normal canned questions" but without a food aspect would be Jessi's showterview or IU's palette.

A lot of groups have done 'reality' shows, essentially a mini-variety show with just themselves. Anything with EXID or Mamamoo will probably be great content.

Dreamcatcher recently: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eH_iMWnWGwU&list=PLmNaKWy1cIoF57e1tG9BTdbHv1sOIGllr

Showtime was a show on MBC that's essentially a broadcast prequal to that style of show. I think a bunch of them are on the youtubes ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Showtime_(South_Korean_TV_series) ). A lot of the older stuff is hard to find on youtube, sadly. There are some solid variety shows but you tend to have to go around other places to find them hosted.

-------

That all said, what you're really looking for is Learn Way. Season 1 was with Yuqi (g-idle), Season 2 was Mijoo (lovelyz). Basically its a "learn to do random thing" each week, and uh, its great. The only complaint I have at all is some of the cutting can be pretty quick, but with only ~15 mins per episode they have to be economical I guess.

For variety shows, KBS World has some classic stuff subbed for free. You can watch all of Invincible Youth, which is a must see show in general, but especially if you're into older groups-- it's from 2009 and the cast is Yuri and Sunny from SNSD, Hyuna, Hyomin from T-ARA, Goo Hara from KARA and Seonhwa from Secret. They are all taken to a small town to farm, basically, and help the village out. The second season has a cast change, and isn't nearly as good, tho still worth a watch if you like the first season. But at some point they bring Sunny back to try to save the show lmao.

Revelup Subs has a boatload of RV content to watch on their site. Every season of Level Up Project is really fun, and we have a new one coming soon.

e: seconding Showtime, the EXID season is great.
