i wonder why evangelicals are not freaking out about all this. when i was in that religion as a kid,everyone was big into revelations and the rapture. LEft Behind, speculation about every world event, like, not full-blown jehova witness style "heres a pamphlet about the doomsday date" but just a general sense of getting pumped about the rapture lol. people would joke about it, there was this notion of people getting, like, suddenly "beamed" up... but just their bodies. Their clothes would be left, their fillings, prosthetics, etc. RIP anyone not-raptured who has to try and survive the chaos of christians being suddenly yeeted into heaven for liking Jesus in the right way, FINALLY like, one big theme of all that paranoia were overtly evil dude s luring "good" christians into following him. a lot of other revelations hints were interpreted as Russia doing fucky poo poo, particularly in the middle east and in ways that affect u.s. or their idea of our proxies. israel is usually doing unusually well, being attacked, or something else interesting before rapture times according to 90s evangelical rapture lore. anyway, we're not in the christian-god-is-real-timeline, but the way things been going I am preparing for a ship made of dead dude's toenails to show up in the news any day now
