This! You just have to have a hand-written resume in-hand, walk into the establishment and ask for the owner. You will then be employed in the great U S of A! God Bless!

Finding a job isn’t hard right now, basically everywhere that was considered essential has been constantly advertising hiring for like 3 months because people who were successfully on unemployment were making far more than those sorts of jobs pay.

Finding a good job is hard because all the sorts of jobs people tend to consider good are frozen for hiring because it turns out middle management and office/admin positions are fairly non essential and companies that lost business quickly decided they could furlough those sorts of jobs but had to keep the min wage people who actually did all the work.

It turns out that realistic measures of essential vs non essential work don’t match up with what those positions are paid and this is gonna cause some problems during hard economic times with lots of unemployment.

The problem here is that all these necessary jobs do not pay enough for people survive off of. A whole lot of white collar workers were willfully ignoring this aspect of society until a crisis reared it’s ugly head.

Regardless of whether or not the OP has looked for any jobs, they are still entitled to receive unemployment for the past two months! Getting a job now isn’t going to fill that void.

Yeah I wasn’t implying OP should go work at a gas station or something, more speaking to how it’s a big problem that even if they did, it likely wouldn’t make ends meet.

Everyone should get what pandemic related benefits we’ve had and everyone should get more moving forward of course, I was just speaking to the idea that there are no jobs. There are plenty of jobs there’s just not plenty of good ones so the people used to having good ones are undergoing a lot of whiplash at the moment.

Oh I see. Yeah poo poo is loving rough out there, especially for people that don’t have vehicles. I was furloughed for three months and tried to find a new job because I was sick of sitting on my rear end all day and I never heard back from a single one.

The point I'm trying to make is that the only way to come out on top is to kick the Air Force in the nuts, beart it savagely with a weight and take a dump on it's face.
My girlfriend went through this with Maryland. After I kept urging her, she reached out to a state senator's office and got a phone call back the same day. Turns out they'd fat-fingered her social security number which caused her claim to be rejected, despite her having to scan the card to them to put in the file and the website merrily telling her she was approved. She got about 12 grand in backpay.

Call your state senator, OP. They put ungodly amounts of pressure on state agencies that are screwing up, mostly because getting one of your constituents paid is a great way to lock in a vote (she's not voting for him anyway though because he sucks).

That blows! Everything I've read about my situation says I should still be entitled to the backpay of the weekly $600 from the feds but I can just so easily see it being another thing I have to jump over dumb hurdles for.

The company I work for just contested a claim from someone who got fired over a year ago for sexually harassing his supervisor

This is in the state of Oregon.

I applied in March, heard nothing until May, got two checks with the stimulus.

Something got messed up, I needed to 'contact' them to get it restarted.

Spent two solid weeks on the phone with a redialer. Constantly busy.

Got an email to call another number. Did so. Got paperwork filed and got one back payment, and two weeks of checks.

They stop again.

I called the second number I'd gotten hold of someone at. It's no longer in service.

Four weeks later, this would be second week of July, got another state check, $200. Two days later, got $600 from the state but those were back checks from the state, not the Pandemic stuff.

End of July, I got ONE more check with the $600, another of the $200, and haven't heard since from them.

I get told 'oh you should get a redialer'. I did. Should call other numbers. I did. "You should be getting SOMEthing" Well, yes, I think so too but I'm not.

We're so hosed. I've now sold off everything but one camera, my laptop and my grandmother's teddy bear. I've cardboard signed down at the Safeway. I've gone to the free pantry. I've applied all over everywhere for a job.

Last week I performed a sexual act for grocery money.

We are so hosed. So very very hosed.

Where in Oregon are you? If it's Eugene/Springfield I will bring you a whole bunch of food.

I was an Unemployment Adjudicator for 10 years in Oregon (it's like a mini judge) AMA, but have not worked there in years so I can't help with your current claim, but I might to be able to offer some guidance.

Really, the most important thing would be getting through on the phone. Once you have someone on the line give your SSN and verify info, and get the specialist to have those weeks pay out (or at least explain why).

Which number are you calling? 503-370-5400 (thats for PUA program but they still might help you, depends if you get someone that is trained in claims) , 503-292-2057, 541-338-6207, 833-410-1004?

EDIT - Depending on your location you MIGHT be able to call the local Worksource office. If the person there knows how, they might also be able to fix your line flags.

...rough day at the orifice.
It's really cool and legit that depending on where you were employed in February carrying into March you can just be deemed sacrificial essential and regardless of risk of exposure you still have to show up every day to collect less money than someone who sits home and watches Stranger Things for 12 hours straight and then takes a nap because if you quit you get jack poo poo. Very fair. Good government.

If he waits long enough he can use his accrued interest from his savings to bring his negative checking balance back into the black.
last year I filed all my income under my own llc and I guess that doesn't count for unemployment. Said I reported only 67 dollars in one quarter. Apparantly if I had made 67 dollars in two or more quarters I would have been approved or something, idk. Florida.

At least I got trump bucks
