At least one, even if it is a one-off. I am guessing Chris Hero, this is based on nothing.

There's a part of me that thinks it's not the right time. But also he's in the same situation as Brodie Lee, and there are a ton of matchups he's never had. Plus I'd love to see him in a different booking environment.

Jeff Cobb said he signed somewhere. I think it’s New Japan but maybe he signed with AEW and he’ll return at the Battle Royal.

Id also like to see Hero or Warhorse make an appearance. I want Miro in AEW but I don’t know if I’d debut him in a battle royal, unless he were the winner.

i get that people remember chris hero fondly but i'd question any major promotion hiring him for an in ring role after the last 5-6 years and I hadn't seen him do anything (obviously covid got in the way to an extent) post wwe release that would earn that spot to separate him from the frankly really really awful Ohno period

They already have Shida/Rosa and presumably Swole/Britt, there's no space and not enough women available to do one. It'll probably happen at Full Gear.

Chris Hero was in the discussion for the best wrestler in the world 4 years ago, he went everywhere & wrestled everyone. The back-to-back nights in RevPro against Ishii & Shibata are outstanding. Even since that, the final of Super Strong Style 16 2018 against ZSJ, also great.

Obviously he's 40 now & he's been stuck in a position where he was never going to be treated like a serious wrestler for most of the last 4 years in purgatory. If AEW can make room in their roster for Shawn Spears then they can make room for Hero because even if he can't go like he could 5 years ago (a not unfair question) he's got an amazing brain for wrestling, he gets it, & he's also generally regarded as an excellent trainer. If you've got a roster with lots of young guys on it then you should want someone like Chris Hero for them to tango with.

That said, hope AEW agree with you & Chris can go back to working every indy ever & also come back to NOAH.

I'm fine with whatever Chris Hero wants to do if it doesn't impact the stuff I watch and I'm sure he's a good trainer, I just didn't rate him at RoH and his NXT stuff was really bad so I've never got the fuss. I find it pretty absurd that he could be in any running for best wrestler in the world but I didn't see the matches you're talking about and there's definitely wrestlers who can be great when they really want to be so I don't discount it.

Crazy to think that we might be days from everything changing. It deffo feels like its time for the tag division to get a shakeup and who knows how deep the elite breakup and/or four horsemen union will run.

I think the issue is that Hero was consistently very good in ROH by most people's measures and rating people based off if their NXT performance is....not a great idea. It's a lovely, passive aggressive environment that grinds people down.

I hope they give them a match on the Buy-In, feels like it’d help push eyes to Dark, and would be a nice reward for them working the loser angle for months.
