Let the burning of pants commence. These things drive me nuts.

So wait, why did Chapman throw 101 at Brosseau's head seemingly intentionally? Did the Rays actually do something the Yankees could feasibly twist into reasoning for potentially fatal retaliation or are they just :qq:'ing in general that they're not leading the division?

It wasn't intentional unless you think that the Yankees wanted to bring the tying run to the plate when they'd lost 6 in a row to the Rays and have won a single game out of the 10 or so they've played against them this season.

gently caress the Rays for being babies about it and for Cash's comment that he has a "stable full of guys who throw 98"

I dont think you get to say "gently caress the team whose dude we could have killed, what babies"

Throwing at the head intentionally is a loving terrible thing to do. Chapman tried to establish the inside on all the batters he faced but let one get away against the lone right handed batter he faced. His stare also didn't help. I just don't think the Yankees or Chapman had any intention of headhunting when they'd already lost six in a row to the Rays and were only up by 2. Chapman has always been wild and I feel like he never has any idea where the ball is going.

Chapman should absolutely be suspended. But the Rays' manager shouldn't come out and threaten to retaliate with 98mph when the Rays had already been pitching the Yankees batters up and in and had previously said that "The only thing we’re mindful of is, we’re trying to compete and go out and win" when his pitchers' almost hitting multiple Yankees was brought up in the previous series.

Chapman literally walked right towards the plate and stared down the batter the second he threw that pitch, even before the Rays dugout or batter had time to react. It was 100% intentional.

He does that literally all the time. You're just looking for poo poo that isn't there.

Hi he pitched for my team as well, albeit very briefly. I understand that he is a colossal piece of poo poo:

It was intentional. Take off your homer glasses lol.

So not talking to the media is proof of guilt now? I provided videos to show that it's not rare for him to walk towards the batter after missing a pitch to counter your "proof" that his actions deem it so.

and yes, Chapman is a huge rear end in a top hat and does deserve to be suspended for almost hitting a guy in the head, but I also don't think it's right to automatically assume intent.

I'm going to be a homer regardless and assume that the team didn't want to bring the tying run to the plate against a team they've only beaten once this season, especially when the guy who would be coming to bat was already 3 for 3 with a HR. I just don't think the game situation called for it to be intentional. Although, it is possible that Chapman stupidly did it all on his own and was just being his rear end in a top hat self.

The Rays' response was lovely for saying that "Somebody has to be accountable." then follow that up immediately with "The last thing I'll say on it is I got a whole drat stable full of guys that throw 98 mph. Period." You don't bring up accountability then follow that with that comment unless you're really thinking about retaliation and dragging this on.

L O loving L. Can't even stay healthy for 60 games.

I hope Loaisiga is okay. All they are saying is that he's going to be out with illness but that it's not covid related.
