My SAtuber persona is going to be a fat old bald man who used to work as a zookeeper. My streams will mostly be reviewing things posted on usenet.

PekoMiko had a song produced by Redalice accidentally go up on iTunes a month early today. Not one of his usual remixes, but a proper single. It's gone now, but the song is pretty good.

Takoluka posted:I think that's actually a big part of the problem! We need to stop using this blanket term. There are dozens of idol agencies, and their internal rules and fan cultures can vary drastically. There are idols that are openly in relationships/married, some are literal JAV performers, and some are considered "anti-idols" and just do whatever the hell they want, and their various fandoms have different values. Regardless of the grains of potential truth behind "YAGOO wants them to be seiso idols," much of the Western viewership has an expectation built around a false narrative of blanket idol culture, which makes the speculation behind the smallest things that much more unhinged. Yeah, the thing about the rules of an idol's behavior is that they're largely self-defined (or group defined). You can do pretty much whatever within the bounds of your established persona, otaku just don't like being sold one thing and then getting something completely different later on. Like, my favorite 48 girl did crazier poo poo than Coco, and she was in the most mainstream of idol groups, but it was uncontentious because that was her own personal niche within the group.

Miko's Spider-man 2 watch was pretty funny, she was in pain during every MJ scene and the chat eventually started asking Doc Ock to kill her off.

Lyer posted:It's such a wasted resource because it's not like the company can use it after she graduates, I think fans would react badly to it, even if it was something like merch. They should at least allow the talent to buy out the rights for the character or something to that effect. they can't have something out there strongly associated with their brand that they have no control over. the end goal of something like hololive is to land a bunch of big endorsement deals. like, AKB went from performing in the top floor of a discount department store to huge sponsorships with google, toyota, and kyoraku within a few years. that's where the money is, and any decisions about behavior are probably based on that goal.

kirbysuperstar posted:Have you put those old prices into an inflation calculator, out of curiosity? Kinda wondering what the difference 'truly' is. Going by Japan's inflation rate a 2200 yen figma in 2011 would cost... 2310 yen. Going by the US inflation rate it would cost 2600.
