This may or may not be an answer to your question but the reason I have a sentimental value for him is because he funslang during a preseason game and then projectile vomited on the field.

Josh McCown is on the Eagle's practice squad at 41. This is a weird-rear end year, yes.

The new CBA is now allowing for 2 players on the practice squad with unlimited years so it'll still be a thing long term. The difference with this covid year is that was expanded to 6 players.

Would cracked ribs and needing painkillers Tyrod be a better choice than Herbert?

Grittybeard
Mar 29, 2010

Bad, very bad!
I still expect Herbert to be bad, but other than one really stupid (I mean amazingly stupid) play he was ok? If he looks like trash after getting a week of gameplanning against him at least you can shelve the idea for a while too, there's no reason to not play him just to get information.

Also while I am confident Tyrod is at least currently better I am against the idea of risking your quarterback's life to play him in general.

e: and I guess it's possible from a certain perspective that one play wasn't even as bad as it looked (no it was, take the first down dummy)

I should also note it's Sorensen getting his rear end beat for an easy across the body throw for a 40 yard TD there if someone didn't save him.

Obviously someone is likely to save him in these situations but still, come on Dan.

State of the AFC West

I think that all of us have reason to be optimistic.

The Chargers have a young QB who looked good and have a great looking defense.

The Raiders have what looks like a really fun offense

The Chiefs, duh.

I am starting to get annoyed at Chiefs beat writers just ignoring that the Chargers are actually a good team. Yes, the Oline is going to need to play better against the Ravens, but also the Ravens don't have the best Dline in the league and maybe mention that?
